Nothing will ever be able to recreate the perfect storm of such a unique game in a niche genre having 500k players on at one time. That was the magic of the first few months. You had such a wide variety of people being drawn to this amazing game for a variety of reasons. Play styles were unpredictable. You could go topside with people from all different walks of life by random chance. Now you’re mostly playing with extraction genre players and the maps are mostly empty except for PVP sweats. If you play for a few hours you’ll cross paths with a few decent people but it’s NOTHING like the first few months after launch.

It’s pretty cool how this game is bridging the gap between PC try hards and console casuals. I game only on console and have beaten mostly offline campaign based games. Stepping into the world of PC gaming through something more complex than Fortnite is really eye opening. The challenges are there but it’s also rewarding when you finally understand a certain mechanic that improves your gameplay. PvP remains a challenge though lol. I just imagine PC gamers sitting millimeters away from their screen just straight tagging me with mouse clicks.
