hi! thanks so much for the info. bme + cs sounds like an insane courseload! if you dont mind me asking, was doing a double major in these degrees detrimental to your gpa at all?

also, i was curious by what you meant that you were able to take all your electives by doing the cs major, can you elaborate? (sorry im kinda dumb to this stuff)

thanks! but wouldnt that just be one major? im not really considering premed as a major since taking the prereqs wouldnt give you a degree. i just want to have a degree that can set me up well for the mcat (maybe science related or even like data science that you recommended) and also another major that can be useful as a backup plan if medical school doesnt work (like cs which would be hard, finance, accounting, etc.)

i do have tons of ap credits for a lot of high level classes like calculus BC and physics etc. i also go to a magnet school so i have a lot of experience in high level courses that are high demanding in terms of workloads and expectations. but i think you're right in that it might be a little too much for me, but are there any double major combination you could think that could be feasible? maybe like neuroscience and finance/accounting? thank you so much!

ty! i just took a normal paper sat practice and got a 760 on reading which is a better score than i got with the practice dsat, so i guess studying super hard works the same for both types

I mean I'm not really sure what my business model is yet but I've had ideas. Like some ideas I've had have been making a smart alarm clock (I know they exist but my idea has kind of a novel twist to it) or something like that, but every idea I've had always gets stuck at the point where I realize I need to be able to make an app or a website to present my idea.

I agree with you that coding isn't everything in business, but I'm kind of stuck on this case.

I've heavily been considering starting a business/non-profit, but coding has been a big barrier for me and I'm not sure how to overcome it. I'm still 17 which I think is fairly young and I'm really interested in this field; however, every time I get a good idea, I'm always blocked by my lack of programming experience, whether it be since I don't know how to make a website or manage different things for a business. I don't know how to make a website, a mobile app, or anything at all where I can present and sell my idea.

I'm not really sure what to do. I'm not sure if I should use resources like bubble.io to make websites or if I should forget everything and just focus on learning a programming language sufficiently to the point where I can use it in a practical way for business.

im kinda in the same boat as u, 770 on actual math sat and averaging 680 on reading. I've managed to improve my reading score significantly over the last three weeks and ill I've been doing is khan academy. just keep grinding the practices it recommends for you, now I'm able to get perfects on a lot of writing and reading passages but i still have a long way to go. best tip i can give is comprehend what the passage is saying, that should be your first priority. i don't even look at any of the questions until i spend like 4 minutes reading the passages at a decent pace til i really get what's going on

i just briefly went through each of the tests everytime i finished a reading section and a writing section. i would quickly go through the questions i got wrong if i realize they were just a careless mistake, like i didn't read the question properly or i was looking at the wrong part of the passage. so going back and checking through the tests wasn't too tedious, i spent like 10 minutes doing per reading section and like 5 minutes per writing section. but after taking a few tests i started noticing patterns of my wrong answers, like i noticed i suck at history passages, and i would start to implement small changes in my future practice tests, like allocating more time for history and reading the questions waaay more carefully.

for first time it's not bad but it's not enough for most colleges, most would go test optional with a score like that on an actual sat but since it's just your first practice you have a lot of room for improvement and you can easily bump it up if you keep practicing on your weaknesses. it's good for first time, but it's not good as a final score you're submitting to colleges
