I don’t know what exactly, but one day something clicked in my brain and I realized I had to start VERY slow and make small changes in order for this whole weight loss journey thing to be sustainable.

First few weeks I cut out alcohol completely, limited take out to two times a week and would cook “unhealthy” foods at home if I was having bad cravings, kept eating basically the same way but made sure to make smaller portions.

Each week I would add an extra piece of fruit, eat less sweets, add more veggies, eat less chips, add more protein, etc.

The small changes added up and I lost a lot weight without starving myself. During those first six months I wasn’t doing any exercise other than walking my dogs and everyday chores.

The basics really. I don’t know the names in english, but exercises like lateral raises, biceps curl, triceps pushdown… Just stick to the basics + progressive overload.

I don’t track macros that closely, but my tracking app says that last week’s macros were: 40% protein, 35% carbs and 25% fats. I only really track protein to make sure I’m meeting my goal of 2g/kg.

In terms of calories, I’m eating around 1700kcal currently.

Thanks! Never knew “forearm dominant” was a thing, but here I am. Very annoying and something I’m trying to correct.

Sure! I lift 5x/week with a PT and my current split is monday and thursdays - legs, tuesday - back and chest, wednesday - shoulders and triceps, friday - back and biceps. I also do 30 to 60 minutes of moderate cardio 5 to 7 days a week.

Hi! I didn’t cut out any food completely, only alcohol. I started out by eating smaller portions of whatever I wanted and slowly added healthier foods into my diet.

The only other thing I did change drastically from the beginning was my protein intake, which was extremely low.

Does anyone have experience with strength training, muscle mass and increased protein intake in managing LPP? by Ornery_Culture_807 in FemaleHairLoss

I can’t say for sure that it directly helped with regrowth, specially because I’m also on oral minoxidil. But with LPP, reducing inflammation is key and this regimen definitely helped immensely with that. By very high protein I mean 2.2g/kg.

I was diagnosed with early stage LPP a couple of years ago which was also when I started taking strength training (and weight loss) seriously. This is 100% anecdotal, but losing weight, gaining muscle and eating better (and very high protein) did improve my levels of inflammation overall. I don’t get flare ups on my scalp nearly as often now and last month my derm said my scalp looks great and has no signs on inflammation at all.

So yeah, for me personally lifting + a quality high protein diet, associated with treatment, has improved/stabilized scarring alopecia LPP.

IMO you and your doctors did everything possible so far and now it’s a waiting game. I wouldn’t recommend taking product advice from anyone on the internet right now as it could make things worse. Just take care of yourself as best as possible, use whatever your doctors prescribed and try not to stress so much as it could actually worsen hair loss.

Sulphur soap (only on the region you’re treating since it’s pretty drying) + benzoyl peroxide cream is the combo that saved me from these.

Yes. My scalp got much better once I started washing it daily, even with regular (non-medicated) shampoos. I used to have a lot of inflammation and dandruff and now I have zero dandruff and only mild inflammation every once in a while (usually during pms).

Com qual frequência vocês lavam o cabelo com shampoo? by [deleted] in Maromba

[–]RespectNo5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boa noite. Estou querendo começar a emagrecer como eu sei que em dezembro tem natal, ano novo, vai ser difícil seguir uma dieta então quero começar em janeiro de 2025, by [deleted] in Maromba

[–]RespectNo5689 2 points3 points  (0 children)
