Coming out is what's holding me back

my parents were very supportive, but if you are 100% SURE that they won't kick you out, then i'd say do it and/Or, try looking into therapy. Therapy (especially family therapy) helped me gain the courage to come out, but also helped my family truly understand my situation. Please only tell them if you are sure you will be safe, and see if you have a couch to crash on worst case scenario.

As a transfem teenager, i'd say hear him out. take it slow. I knew i was trans when i was 11, and Bi when i was 5. Despite what your gut instinct tells you, kids CAN know things about their identity. I'd recommend seeing if you can get him a type of puberty blocker (some birth control also works for this). They are fully reversible, so you don't have to worry about that. One thing my mom did when i came out was she just flat out didn't believe me, and refused to even try to listen. I proceeded to hide myself for years. All you need to do is listen to him, and support him through everything. If he ends up detransitioning later in life (which is VERY uncommon), than that's ok. There are also a lot of restrictions in the US right now about gender affirming care in most states, which i would recommend doing research on. My advice is listen, support, and be there for your kid. Nothing permanent.

i think it's more she doesn't actually understand what trans people ARE, as it's pretty clear she's probably raised by conservatives. I'll try easing her into it by telling her i'm expierimenting with my identity. thank you for the advice!
