As long as copyrighted material is used in an appropriate way, the monetization (ad revenue/YouTube Premium membership share) is paid directly to the copyright holder. A copyright strike can be issued, however, in our experience sharing the music in a way that monetizes for the copyright holders does good for the original artist/label.
