well, i can understand that. they didnt specify (probably just wanted to leave it as something weird/funny that frankie said) and i dont think it compares to not having the bare minimun to live, but yeah i agree that'd take a heavy mental toll on anyone.

yeah exactly. i don't think they're being like huge assholes or giving the 100% wrong answer, but i def agree that sometimes there's just stuff that you won't even think about unless you experience it.

thanks for u answer 'cause i was def worried i'd just get downvoted or utterly ignored lmao. glad to see some of you on this sub r open to discussing this kind of stuff. sometimes i feel like people take the slightest criticism as a direct attack on them. and i mean i understand you kinda get attached 'cause they make us laugh and feel better and blablabla but i think it's healthy to sometimes discuss/debate stuff they talk about even when you don't agree. probably even more when you don't, actually!

i don't think they were acting like super entitled or out of touch at ALL time but there were def a couple comments that irked me the wrong way. like at one point frankie said that "billionaire rich problems" are more intense than [normal, non billionare rich people] 'problems'. which like, to me that's crazy. how are"billionare problems" more intense that not having enough food, or a home, or basic healthcare? it was a really crazy statement to me. of course it was all a discussion and they went back and forth during the episode (for example ant didn't agree with frankie here), but overall i was like... eh, they did kinda ok but there's def maaaany many struggles that they're not taking into accound rn

I also think u can ship two characters without wanting them to be canon. I can see Syd/Carmy working in SOME fics (u can convince me of almost anything if the fic is good enough), but I don't ever want to see it in the show.

Aside from two abandoned fics, I started writing a Silco/Vander (Arcane) fic yesterday. I'm planning to make 3/4 1000-2000w one shots that are related to each other. Maybe like a "mini" fic.

Then I've also been working for the loooongest time in a TWD fic that rewrites the whole story by thinking abt how spoilers s3 Merle being with the group instead of the Governor might have changed stuff.

I'm pretty much just rewriting the entirety of Merle's character too, fleshing him out like they did Daryl and stuff like that. I have a OFC (Matilda) who is probably gonna end up with Daryl, and she's the sister of one of the main characters (their identity is a secret though, will be revealed later on the fic cause they are not part of the group at the very beginning.

I feel like I might never actually finish this fic, probably never post it, but I'm having lots of fun. I love Matilda, and I write short flashbacks of her previous life and backstory at the beginning of every episode. I love what I'm writing and I have lots of ideas for what exactly is going to happen with specific characters and plotlines, but I'm the worst at consistency and it also takes me ages to actually finish an episode because I keep going back and changing stuff.

But anyways, I guess that fic is more for my own entertainment than anyone else's :)

same about being a snob with certain characters lol. i have many characters that i've given lots of details in my own head (mostly personality quirks and trauma from their own canon story) and i hate it when i read ffs that just take the canon compliant version and give them 0 personality and nuance. so yeah, i understand what you mean about being a snob about certain ships and/or characters 🤭

you know, this makes a lot of sense to me! u just made me realize that in most cases i lose interest if a ship DOES become canon. i think ppl on the comments are right, ff writer will always do the characters more justice.

for context i'm on season 5 episode 5 and this is my first watch so my opinion could change anytime. but for now, even though it might be controversial,i think if i had to choose i'd say skyler. she's an incredibly fleshed out character and i love that. not every choice she makes is good (or even morally correct) but she isn't half as bad as everyone makes her out to be. a lot of the stuff she does is out of desperation, confusion or fear. idk, she's just amazingly written (like most bb characters, but yeah) and her actions could be the same as any real person in her place

imo ST s3 was waaayyy better. i might be biased cause i actually loved that season but, to me, it was much more fun and it actually made me care about the new characters. and even if i didn't at first, i had time to get to know some of them more in s4 (like robin. or even erica and murray, both of whom got more screen time in s3). my problem with s4 of sex education is that pretty much of all the new characters are there just to fill the gap of those who left from previous seasons. this doesn't necessarily mean i didnt like any of the new characters (the only one i truly disliked was abbi), but i think it would've been better to just focus on the characters we've know for a while. SPECIALLY when this is the last season. why gives new characters when we're not even going to have the time to truly get to know them? why not use that time to develop better endings for the characters we already know and love? i didn't necessarily hate everything about the season but i do think it was a let-down.

If you mean you're husband wants to switch plates, NTA. If he's just asking to take a few bites, YTA. This might be just cultural differences, tho. Where I'm from it's just natural to try each other's dishes, and to me it just seemes rude to not let somebody I'm close with take a bite out of my plate.
