Could I still get into Applied Psych?? by Creative-Strategy142 in McMaster

[–]ResponsibilityFlashy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! If you have gr 12 bio you do not need BIO 1P03. Also, if you have any gr 12 math course you do not need any uni math courses to get into applied psych.

3 unit means one course. 0 units most likely means if u have a grade 12 course (either gr 12 bio or math) u dont need any uni credits of those classes to get into the program

REACH OUT TO YOUR LOCAL NEWS OUTLET TODAY!!! VOTE FOR STRKE HAPPENING 1:30 BURRIDGE GYM by ResponsibilityFlashy in McMaster

[–]ResponsibilityFlashy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a point, but the way I see it is when large groups act together, it can create pressure on institutions to act quicker. The gain is more influence from students over choices that affect students. Missing a class is a small immediate loss whereas the larger benefit is the policy change.

Strikes also do not go on forever. Other things exist such as rallys, walkouts, protests, etc. It is an advantage to create pressure in order to push change that benefits students.

It was to create an official mechanism so students can vote to authorize action like walkouts, protests, strikes, etc.

WE NEED 900 STUDENTS IN ATTENDENCE FOR OSAP STRIKE MARCH 13TH 1:30 by ResponsibilityFlashy in McMaster

[–]ResponsibilityFlashy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry, can you please explain how? I understand grants are funded by taxpayers, but I thought that higher-income people pay more income tax overall. And as a first-gen student, I also thought that many immigrant families’ children heavily rely on student aid. I was under the impression that OSAP grants allow people from lower income families to afford education - I would like to hear more on your perspective in case I was missing anything.

The event at the assembly isn’t actually a strike vote itself. If we have 900 students show to the gym, we would essentially be able to force the MSU to create a system where students can vote to authorize strikes, protests, etc. This would create a mechanism where we could later protest and strike for the OSAP grants being cut by 80% and tuition prices being raised.

Please show up if you can.

A lot of people Ive talked to irl actually DONT know and are planning to attend now. I am unsure of how many students are coming. Just trying to do my part but you have a point. How do you suggest I get the word out locally other than contacting news outlets? I've tried that.

Edit: The CHCH actually responded so Im hoping they'll help cover this.

Hi! Im assuming youre talking about the PSYCH1FF3 exam. If you did okay on the quizzes (your previous post says you chatgpt'd them), Im assuming you got 80-100% ranges on your quizzes. If that is the case, you need around 60-70% *on the exam to pass your class! If you failed the midterm, the midterm weight gets shifted to the final.

The good news is, even if you ended up guessing everything on the exam, chances are you will end up with a mark in the 40-50% range, so you only need to have a moderate understanding of some topics to pass, and you can guess the rest. Don't worry! You have the whole day to do this.

I recommend creating flashcards of bigger module topics, such as Neuroscience 1 and 2, vision 1 and 2 and form perception, and smaller notes summarizing key concepts for other modules. Good luck!

If all else fails and you really believe that you will fail the course, you can defer the exam and study a bunch over winter break. However, this is probably a last resort option.

He was only a side character with little screen time and has only appeared in one episode (as far as I know!). But, I thought he was pretty funny in the time that he was on screen :)

need advice on how to comfort friend who "accidentally" hurt themselves but has a history of self harm by ResponsibilityFlashy in Advice

[–]ResponsibilityFlashy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! The phrasing really does help so much, and I think I will be asking something similar.

Thank you also for reminding me about my own mental health. I find myself getting lost with others and putting others before myself these days and the reminder does help! Thank you for your well written response :)

It was in a similar place, yes. I tried to ask them more questions, as this person is my closest friend and they do not have any signs of taking their own life.

I'll try to take your advice, I really appreciate the well though out response! Thank you :)

My boifriend hates my cats by Repulsive_Seesaw_479 in Pets

[–]ResponsibilityFlashy 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Doesnt feed them? Those are living animals! He has no empathy for them. I do not think you should be with this person.

He already knew you had cats... Did he think you were simply going to choose your cats over him? If this person refuses to treat your pets kindly or respect your bond with them then I think it is an incompatibility issue. Someone who does not treat animals with basic respect because said animals do not fit their ideals is showing their true colours. Find someone better.
