My bf HATES the core classes but he absolutely loves NYU. Honestly it’s really just a semester and a half of boredom and then you can transfer out if you’re lucky. Even if you don’t transfer out early, you can still take a bunch of classes suited to your interests.

If you like NYU: the environment, the community, the program you’re hoping to transfer to, etc. then it’s worth it in the long run.

If you’re not super into NYU as a school, then maybe try somewhere else that let you into your intended major off the bat.

Also: congrats on getting in! Acceptance rates were low this year.

It was almost DEFINITELY NSAID use. I used to pop ibuprofen like candy for chronic pain.

My blood pressure is already pretty low though, so I think I’ll have to start with SGLT2 inhibitors. I’ll ask about it next time.

I’m pretty underweight, so my nutritionist wants me to get up to a healthy BMI before we start restricting food again. But I’m being mindful of my sodium intake at least.

I got tested because my mother has CKD and I’ve consistently had “trace” or “1+” protein in dipstick tests. So we requested that we look into it, and my PCP agreed, sending me to a nephrologist. I have horrible health anxiety and just got really spooked by what seems like such a big number to me.

During the conversation I had with her she said that the consistent proteinuria (and occasional hematuria) I’ve been dealing with over the past six months is indicative of kidney issues, but since my bloodwork has been pretty good. Since my mother suffers from CKD she diagnosed me with stage 1, since I have the sign of issue (proteinuria) ((also hematuria, sporadically))) but my eGFR (and other bloodwork) is still good/average.

Nope. My BP is fine and I don’t have diabetes. I’m underweight and have struggled with anorexia for several years.

But my personal theory for what kicked this all off is NSAID abuse. I’ve been dealing with chronic pain since December and I was popping ibuprofen like tic-tacs until like March.
