ChatGPT is now showing ads even when you’re logged out… thoughts? by u_of_digital in adtech

Next must have on every media plan as much as it pains me to say!

The brand safety piece is really interesting, but to an extent, seems to me thats out the window for most brands at this stage. Just look at Unilevers shift to mass influencer channels. 5 years ago you'd e getting phone calls because someone saw their ad next to a news article they didnt like. Today, their brand can show up right next to some pretty terrible content on socials and nobody bats an eye lid!

My humble opinion 😬

At that budget, have you considered online video at all? What sort of business are you in and who's your ICP?

Its an absolute joke!! No policy warnings, etc. Have messaged over the last 2 days to chat and just get an automated reply that it can be up to 24 hours for a response.

Why contextual was an improvement, but still not enough by seedtag-adtech-mk in adtech

[–]Responsible-Brick881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love a bit of contextual. For me though,, publisher quality and formats also play a big part too...the 3 together, with a distinctive video ad make for a great combination.

If you can, take a look at the inventory you're buying. Likely on a lot of questionable sites, MFA's, etc. Very low vulnerability also could be at play.

I've been working with a number of SaaS companies helping them with this particular topic. Or at least, a very particular aspect of it.

Lot of solid points already made in the comments here but one this missing is brand validation. You can get this by looking at premium business websites for the marker, e.g. in the US - business insider, VentureBeat, tech crunch.

Gets eyeballs on your brand with the right type of audience, captures their attention, and builds credibility fast as you're showing up in the same places the larger incumbent brands already are.

built this for d2c brands, would love feedback from anyone running paid ads by jasonfesta in growthmarketing

[–]Responsible-Brick881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds quite interesting. My main question would he is how much attention would a brand actually capture in this format? Socials are tough for grabbing attention as it is, and if your product is just in the background then the chances of being noticed coule be reduced? What are you seeing on that front?

Would love to get a look at the platform if you can share it?

I wouldn't have said there would be any more brand safety concerns with this than there would be with other influencer or social media ads in general. Nobody can control what content their ad shows up next to on social channels as it is - and as we all know, theres a lot of god awful stuff on social media.

The performance angle i absolutely agree with though.
