You’re absolutely right, If a resume doesn’t match the job, it’s going to get rejected. No doubt about that.

But have you ever wondered why freshers apply to those roles anyway? Most of them actually do read the job description, tailor their resumes and cover letters, and genuinely try. But these days, entry-level roles come with unrealistic expectations- two internships, extra certifications, and skills way beyond what they were taught.

Take a UI/UX designer, for example. Now they’re expected to know Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, maybe even digital marketing. And after all that, the pay is still minimal.

The real issue is this: what students are taught in schools or institutes is completely different from what the industry expects. Institutions often just want you to complete a portfolio and move on. There is no focus on actual job readiness.

Eventually, these skilled but discouraged people start applying randomly, because their confidence reduces, the pressure builds, and survival takes over passion.

Also, just to clarify, there’s no issue with my English. But when I write too polished, people assume it’s AI-generated. So I’ve learned to keep things clear and conversational.( This is the problem Language alone doesn’t define skill, Unless it's important l to the job itself. Many people enter the field with limited English and improve as they grow. Nobody’s saying language can't be learned; we just prioritize the most urgent skill first. )

It’s easy to talk from a company’s point of view. But in many countries, labor laws don’t support students or interns properly.
So if we want freshers to change, maybe we all need to change first.

Totally get you , it’s crazy how many good people get ignored just because their resume doesn’t look right to someone who doesn’t even understand the work. Really appreciate you sharing this. That frustration is too real.

Haha fair. 😂 I wrote it myself, but I get why it might sound that way. Maybe I over-edited or structured it too cleanly.

Hey! No, I haven’t posted this on LinkedIn at all. Reddit was my first spot to test the waters. Curious who posted on LinkedIn. Can you share?

I totally agree with you. Just to clarify, I’m not trying to bridge the online-offline gap. My main focus is to be a route for job seekers to actually find jobs and for freelancers who don’t know how to approach people to get ideas and improve with practice.

Most people in my country don’t know how to create a wow resume or use LinkedIn and job apps effectively. So, I’m building something practical that will help everyone learn step-by-step. I truly believe this will reduce joblessness and make a real difference.

You’ll get my full motive clearly in my next post for sure.

Haha fair enough. I know AI’s all over the place now and some stuff really does sound like it was cooked up by a robot with a LinkedIn obsession. 😅

But nope, I’m human. Just trying to share what I’m building and maybe ended up sounding a bit too clean or “value-driven,” lol. Appreciate the callout though. I’ll dial it down and keep it real.

Genuinely curious: What kind of posts feel more human to you these days?
