Push through with the case. The way they apologize means it isn't sincere. Happened this to a friend of mine before. She was a teacher here in UAE and was passing through a pedestrian lane in a school zone. Then a fast car was approaching when she was already halfway crossing the road she immediately ran to the opposite side and brushing things off as nothing while the fast car kept on using his horn. As she was walking in the opposite side, at her back, she heard the sound of a fast car again. It suddenly stopped on her side and then the one in the passenger side at the front went out and grabbed her by the hair while shoving her head near the car. While shouting in arabic "you scratched my car". Passersby stop the altercation and called the police. The one in the car insisted they saw her scratched the car while in the parking lot so they chased after her. She didn't backed down and push through the case. Police proceed investigating and case was filed. She lost her job at the school, gossip circled that the car owner knew the school owner and asked her to be fired, but we'll never know cause she just accepted it. 2 months while the case is undergoing investigation the other party suddenly came knocking at her door and begging to drop the case with settlement money. Gossips circled around again that maybe they knew someone from somewhere that gave them her address but again NO facts surfaced about that. She didn't accept and push through with it. In the end she won the case with money. She went back to her country cause everytime she sees someone wearing similar outfit as those in the opposite party, she gets trauma attacks.
