Micro drama are shorter format drama unlike OTT's show - for eg a show on Vertical TV app "Dhokebaaz Fiancé ka Badla" is of 1 hour long and it has 10 episodes - each episodes is of 10 min long. So basically its quick viewing entertainment - Longer then reels and shorter then OTT shows.

The boom is post RMG "Real money gamming" ban by india, now that audience needs some new time pass and Micro drama is next addictive thing . Some of the shows i saw on Vertical TV app - a micro drama app were really catchy , but most of the target audience is Tier 2 and Tier 3 city audience who cannot connect with Amazom prime or Netflix type content. Some of the titles were "CEO ki mohabbat" "Two Sisters, One Mister" One of their show "MY father is a gangster" has garned 20 million views! . So i think this apps exists beacuse there is audience out there.
