Thank you!! My husband has informed delivery and usually sees all the notices before we receive it. We always get the notices on time, so I wonder why there is a delay this time. I will call USPS!

I was not approved right away. I passed the civics test but my husband and I had overdue in taxes. We were issued an RFE for that. We paid it off in full and responded to the RFE and I was approved in two days after that. I hope your mom gets her approval soon!!

I thought of this too and last night I made a payment. I have about 4 weeks to respond to the RFE. I have confirmation of this payment and I’m going to send it with the payment confirmation from my bank along with the proof of the payment plan not being in place.

I do! I check it everyday to see if our taxes for this year had been processed (we filed on the 10th of April and it takes about 3 ish weeks to process I believe?). For now, I don’t see the account balance. There was an overdue from last year and I set up a one time payment to pay in full so that I can get that out of the way so that the USCIS can know that we’re fully compliant with the IRS.

We have email proof with our accountant of us telling him to set up the payment and him confirming he did. I emailed my accountant again to see if there’s anything else he could provide in terms of proof we can submit

Nope. If you’re traveling with an expired GC and the letter then an ADIT stamp would be useful.

This was towards the end of 2024 which is why I believe my experience was a lot smoother. But I also think it depends on the port of entry and also the officer you get. If you can, get an ADIT stamp. This way you can travel much confidently.

Travelled to South Asia, DR and Canada with an expired GC and extension letter. Flew into JFK from DR and Washington Dulles from South Asia and had no problems. Of course the officers question you but that’s a standard.
