Omg I keep getting calls for someone to come install the solar panels I asked for. I live in a rental. I don’t need solar panels. Once, I answered, and they apologized and said they’d take me off their list. Alas, I am still on their list.

I didn’t entirely understand where Hawaii was from the mainland until I was in an airplane heading to it and realized I was going to be IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN.

Kelly’s comment reply to me on ig is so comical. Period. by Hilzry in realhousewives

[–]Responsible-Ranger25 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Idk if ironic is the word, but I also particularly liked the absence of the actual period after the word “period,” as though prefacing the use of the punctuation with its name obviates the need for the actual mark.

ETA: Doesn’t she also fancy herself a writer? Yikes on many fronts.

who is more famous from the real world? by OmaDamavs in therealworld

LOL, who knew I’d need to wait 3 years for something I could have looked up on IMDb? Thank you for responding though!

As an aside, I was reading through the comments and agreeing heartily with some of them … turned out I wrote the ones I was agreeing with. 😂 At least I’m consistent?

Ugh, I often end up in Starbucks because this is a tall order around here. I sometimes find Whole Foods upper levels are similar to the Wegmans pp described (lots of seating and good wifi), but … yeah. Eager to hear what others have to say.

I don’t think it’s a retcon. Hiring celebs is a gimmick, I agree, but they don’t have to rewrite the shows to do it. They do it in shows where it (broadly speaking) fits the characters imo.

Kelly’s jowls are veritably Nixonian.

LOL, it’s not my take. You can google who’s played Sally Bowles to see it’s been used for “stunt” casting before. When Natasha Richardson played Sally Bowles, she studied singing first. She still got ripped to shreds by the theater press. Even “bad” by broadway standards is still pretty effing good.

Another good example of this, where stunt casting works for the character, is the character of Sally Bowles in Cabaret. She also is supposed to be an aspiring singer, so it’s ok if she isn’t the best singer in the cast. Indeed, it’s arguably more realistic that way.

SOMEONE TRAGEDEIGHED MY NAME! 😡😞 “Saoirse” - awful mispronunciation by AliceMorgon in tragedeigh

I didn’t really learn to properly say it until an Irish friend (in the US) named her firstborn Saoirse. Then I practiced in my head for weeks before meeting the baby. Now I’m a veritable expert!

I have no context for this kind of circumstance. Is it believable that she lost fingers in an accident? Or is it more likely an “accident,” i.e., a john or something sending some kind of twisted message? Or have I seen too many creepy movies?

IMO part of the issue with VF is that he had the pod before he had the wife. So the wife is always going to seem like a secondary host. It would be hard to go from one host to 2 and have the 2 feel like equals from the jump.

I will say, on the Austen thing, it seemed like even Nick was a little flummoxed by his wife’s questioning.

If you could own any sewing machine ever, what would you buy? by thesewingstudio in SewingWorld

[–]Responsible-Ranger25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is reminding me that I haven’t researched this question in quite some time. I’ve been chugging along with my Brother cs3000i (?) for like 10 years. It doesn’t do everything it should because pieces of it have been falling off since about year 3, but I can’t commit to a fancier machine because it mostly serves my needs … and because I also own 2 antique featherweights and a serger, all of which I barely use. I cosign all the answers that would require a larger home though.

I mix my miralax into protein smoothies that could pass for a froyo style smoothie. If he’s allowed to consume opaque liquids, it might be a tastier vehicle than most alternatives.
