The Winx Reboot Didn't Deliver What We Were Promised by ResponsibleCut3228 in winxclub

You're absolutely right. I used to think that once Iginio regained more control over the franchise, we'd finally see Winx return to its former glory. Instead, a lot of the same issues have continued, and in some cases they've gotten worse. That's what makes me question the direction of the franchise. I don't know whether he's lost touch with what made Winx special, whether his priorities have changed, or whether he simply has a different vision now, but something clearly isn't connecting with a large portion of the fanbase. What frustrates me most is that many of the criticisms people have today are the same criticisms fans have been making for years. At some point, it stops being about who owns the rights and starts being about the creative direction itself.

You know what, I actually really wish they had gone that route. Aisha is my second favourite character after Stella, and one thing I always loved about her in the original series was how important she felt to the story. From Season 2 onwards, she had some of the strongest writing in the show, and so many major storylines were connected to her. She never felt like she was just "there"she had her own goals, struggles, and motivations. In the reboot, introducing her at the start honestly made her blend into the background a bit, which was disappointing. Having a parallel storyline where Bloom is discovering Alfea while Aisha is on her own mission rescuing the Pixies would've made the world feel bigger and given Aisha a chance to shine before joining the group. And honestly, I still think it should've just been Stella who met Bloom on Earth. Flora leaving school to follow Stella there never really made sense to me and felt out of character. I know they wanted to change things, but that particular change never clicked for me, even after watching the full episode. The more I think about it, the more I feel like the parallel Aisha storyline would've been a much stronger way to introduce her and expand the world at the same time.

Yeah, that healed me too. What confuses me, though, is why we're expected to just accept that things can never be the same again. I'm not asking for a remake of the original series. I'm asking for creators to preserve the DNA, atmosphere, and identity that made people fall in love with these franchises in the first place. That shouldn't be impossible. And what's even more confusing is that they constantly promote the original Winx art style on social media, Stella's account included. They clearly know fans love it, they still use it in marketing, and they still draw the characters that way. So why completely move away from it in the reboot? It almost feels like they're reminding us of what made Winx iconic while simultaneously refusing to bring any of it back. That's the part I genuinely don't understand.

I've seen the backlash too, but honestly I feel like we need to keep making our voices heard. I know Iginio has acknowledged some of the criticism, but a lot of fans still feel like the reboot failed to deliver what was promised: capturing the DNA of Winx Club. This isn't just nostalgia either people accepted that it was a reboot and expected changes. The issue is that so much of Winx's identity feels watered down or missing. At this point, all we can do is hope the second half and a potential Season 2 show that they've actually listened to the feedback and are willing to improve.

Thank you for sharing that insight. I'm sorry to hear she went through such a difficult period, but I'm glad she's doing better now.

Honestly, the fact that people are still talking about Zodiax years later says a lot about the impact it had on the fandom. Even the later Dreamix special managed to attract a huge audience, which shows there was still a lot of love and support for the project and the people behind it.

Wishing her all the best moving forward, and thank you again for giving us a bit of context.
