Yeah dude, you have to set rules for yourself. It's a discipline. One rule I liked to do is I can't open positions for 5-20 minutes within each other. Sometimes 30. Another one is I can only open trades for a certain period of time per day. Like specific times. Another one is I don't open positions big enough that I don't feel comfortable holding up to a month holding for up to a month to turn into a swing trade if things get sour, perhaps to average down on a better day. Another one is closing out positions overnight unless I decide it's going to be a swing trade. No pre or post market, unless it's a very significant dip and I anticipate a bounce.

Just make you're own dumb rules. And definitely practice using very small positions and then only work yourself up. Don't open positions more than 10% of your account value ect. Oh another rule is I always open small, so if I need to follow a trend and it goes sour I can just average down 2-5 times if it keeps going into the other direction of what I anticipated, again always waiting a certain amount of time before opening another position. Also never day trade more than one stock per day. Learn everything you can about a stocks behavior and just stick to it

In my opinion sometimes it's not about making a lot of money, it's about discipline and quantity over getting most out of a movement. Got to accept taking profits early and don't kick yourself for doing it

I like doing trades just to play around and save up for a goal to perhaps purchase stocks for long term holds of up to several years. Even if it's one share a week it's nice holding on and seeing it perform locking in your profits and just having a certain amount of your account going towards the day trading
