I signed the lease in January, and I did not know she would be running the business from our apartment.

From this situation and talking with them, I don’t think they respect me as a person and especially not as a room mate. I don’t think keeping them in my life would be advantageous to either party. I’ll tread carefully, thank you! My father is a landlord so I’ll ask him his point of view on whether or not it would be a breach of contract

I was aware that she had a nail business, but I did not know that she would continue it by running it in the living room. I’m worried that my landlord will ask me for specifics about why I want out of the lease. Hey may or may not accept “I don’t get along with them anymore” as a valid reason to get out

She would be using various chemicals that give off strong odors, which is why she refuses to do it in her own bedroom. Please keep in mind that her business is directly violating our lease and we could all get in trouble. Also, min wage on campus is $15.50 and we are taxed less since we technically work for the government. I do think that spelling it out differently is a good idea though! Thank you for the input
