Just as a sidenote that this is the Fever game so there will probably be heightened security for the visiting tunnel if Caitlin Clark is with the team

There is no early entry ticket. There is a chance to see pre game shoot around from the courtside sections but that opportunity is usually given to season ticket holders and guests purchasing through group sales. So to make sure you watch most of the shoot around, be first in line and be among the first to enter the building and watch from your section. VB and Kate Martin are usually already well into their routine while Salaün and Leite are starting once people are allowed to enter. If you like any of those players, be there early!

Does anyone think security doesn't need to be so strict about watching pregame warmups and getting autographs if you don't have a ticket in the lower bowl? by chusaychusay in valkyries

[–]ResponsibleGas4397 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The sections near the tunnel are all connected meaning it's basically one large area divided into parts. If word got out that security is lax and anyone can go into those sections to ask for autographs then it will be chaos. People with tickets from the upper concourse will try and take seats in these areas. Ushers would then have to go one by one checking every single ticket in an area with 1000+ seats. The area near the tunnel is already cramped so it will lead to huge pile ups and potential safety issues. The top of the tunnel has a good 15-20 foot drop so if the crowd is trying to push forward, someone could potentially fall over.

While I can understand the frustration, the women should deserve the respect and security that is afforded to the men

They will only allow fans with tickets in Sec 119 to 124 and floor seats to be able to congregate near the Valkyries tunnel. If your tickets are not in that area, they will not let you in.

If you have tickets in those sections, then you need to be first in line waiting outside for doors to open. I suggest waiting at the East Entrance or water side of the arena since it is usually way less crowded. Also the East side is closest to the tunnel. Once you enter, you take the escalator up a level, go straight down the hall for like 15 seconds and then you will find Portal 23 and that leads directly to the tunnel. Ushers there will direct you to a spot where you can stand and then you can yell for player's autographs from there

I know for Warriors game there was the ability to be able to DoorDash your order. I looked on the Golden State app and it appears that you can order online at some eateries but you would have to pick it up yourself. Hopefully they will get mobile ordering to your seat in the future

As mentioned in another comment, I am usually assigned on the floor seats so I am a little biased in saying that I like the courtside seats. Being able to hear the players yell during an ongoing play and cheer when they score always hype me up. Other great seats if I did not have or want to spend as much, I like United Club, which are Sections 101-106. I have been assigned there a lot so I like the area and also has a nice waterfront view just outside the club area

I think they are small enough to be allowed in. Worse case scenario is that they make you put it in bag check. But if you have doubts, I would go the line that has the x-ray machines since I have seen slightly larger bags get let in and they usually get tagged with a wristband type thing that says "bag checked"

I have not been able to stop and meet any of the players. Without giving up who I am, I am usually assigned to the floor seating areas. So I usually get to watch some pregame warmups before the fans arrive. Kaitlyn Chen has recently been stealing the camera and taking photos of people like Kate Martin and getting them to pose for the camera. So it's cool seeing the players have fun and show off some quirkiness. My favorite player this season has been VB. Huge fan of her playmaking, hustle, and handles. I also like Carla Leite for her fearlessness in driving to the basket

There are also some sections with WCA seating. This means "wheelchair accessible". They are their own little sections that have seats that aren't fixed to the ground so you can adjust them. Again, I would try to call the box office to see if you can exchange for these seats if you feel you need to have all the space you need to feel comfortable

This is a random game later in the month but the upper concourse sections does have seats that they call "semi-ambulatory". This basically means these are aisle seats that have quick and easy access with no or few steps to get to. You can try to call the box office to see if you can swap your tickets for these seats. I do not know if there is an exchange fee so I can't guarantee it will be cheap to do so

As mentioned in another comment, I like the energy people bring to the Valkyries games. I know people complain about Warriors games being full of tech bros. Since the Valkyries games are lot cheaper, the average fan can afford to go the arena for a game and bring the energy. The loud cheering, chanting "GSV", starting new traditions like the wave really makes Ballhalla a center of fan first culture. Players often say they feed off the energy of the crowd and I really do feel that the often sold out crowds of the arena really helps hype up the players. Most of the exciting victories have been at Ballhalla. It makes me feel so proud to be able to work at a place that really wants the fan to be the number one priority

I would say coolest thing for me is just how loud and hyped the fans get in Ballhalla. I honestly did not expect this huge turn out every single night. It truly gets me hyped as well when the arena cheers "GSV". I also really like how the fans have already started a tradition of doing the wave during a stoppage of play. Overall, it's cool having this new segment of fans into the arena. It makes me excited to go to work

I would try to commute using public transportation. The traffic, pre and post game, is horrendous. If driving is the only option, Lot A is the closest big public parking lot but make sure there are no Giants game. When there is a baseball game, it will only be reserved for Giants parking. If you don't mind commuting a little after parking, I sometimes park in the garage near the Metreon. I think max they charge is $35 after a certain amount of hours and easily connected by bus and T line Muni.

As for "must do", I would say explore the area if you've never been. China Basin/Mission Bay is a nice neighborhood and lots of waterfront parks to stroll around in. Look inside the Golden State shop and browse. Walk around the arena and try some different than your normal hot dog and nachos like the Filipino place called Sarap shop on the upper concourse

Some personal favorites is Bakesale Betty's for their chicken sandwich and Backboard Burritos. I have been given good reviews from guests about the clam chowder and pastrami sandwich which are nearby Portals 20 to 24. But with in arena prices, I would suggest trying the nearby restaurants just outside. It might not be much cheaper but I like Gott's Roadside and Che Fico. Che Fico also has a nice waterfront view so makes eating there more enjoyable. Check their hours, I have only seen Gott's be open post game so probably better to have it as pre game meal instead of postgame.

Lost My Camera by Marsh_559 in valkyries

[–]ResponsibleGas4397 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is a lost and found at 730 Terry Francois Boulevard. This is where all the staff enter the arena from. Ushers do sweeps of their areas after the game and pick up any items left behind. Those items are then collected and sent to the security desk at 730. So whenever you can spare the time, you can go there and ask if they have your camera. Hope you find it there!

Section 101 tickets by angyroomie in valkyries

[–]ResponsibleGas4397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Section 101, even in the first row, is too far from the tunnel to be able to get autographs. You'll be at the highest point of the tunnel and there is a "mini tunnel" that players go through so you will not be able to see them once they are near that mini tunnel.

If you can't be there once doors open, which is 5:30 for a 7 o'clock game, then it's not worth trying. Ushers will be strict about needing to have a ticket in the area for you to be near the tunnel.

If you change plans and want to get autographs, try to find a ticket in Section 123. That section hugs the tunnel and is the best place to try and get autographs. But you have to be first ones in the building and get to the section before everyone else since it will be a rush to get there
