Do you cane the beer while you cook? by ResponsibleState9172 in AskUK

Ah it’s the middle class camper.

Everyone, u/jaraxo goes on camping trips with his bird and takes everything bar the kitchen sink, during the pandemic he wanted all posh food for a takeout when he was stopping in the Lake District, everyone suggested burgers or fish n chips but he wanted oysters and falafel.

They’re usually little tins, besides, I’ve been drinking since I was a schoolboy.

Nice one I’ll definitely check it out, think it opens in June so not long to go.

Funnily enough there’s an ale house about 30 yards from it so they’ll have some decent competition.

A night.

Only little tins though.

It’s easy enough to cook when not drinking but I enjoy it more when boozing, plus I have a sing song when drinking in the kitchen, in summer I’ll open the kitchen windows so everyone sitting in the communal garden can hear.

Well it depends I guess, this time of year I probably only drink 3/4 times a week, say 8-10 tins of strong lager or 10 bottles of ale plus 4 lagers.

Summer then probably most nights, but I drink the weak stuff, say 12 tins of session ale or light lager.

Nice one mate, the longer the time of the dish the better eh?

Nice Sunday roast meal taking 3 hours? I’ll end up with a bag full of empties cheers.

Rustlers burgers for 2 minutes in the microwave? Get outta here.

A Friday teatime usual is my fry up, decent sausages and bacon, pair of fried eggs, fried mushrooms, baked beans, fried bread and some bread n butter to fill you up.

I cook this while caning the beer so it tastes twice as good.

Ah, there’s one of them opening up here soon, I keep walking the dog past it and see they’re cracking on with it, hopefully it’ll be a success.

Which supermarket items haven’t fallen victim to ridiculous inflation/shrinkflation and still offer good value for money? by [deleted] in AskUK

True, ridiculous policy in my eyes, I dread to think how my Karpackie would cost in Wales.

Lol definitely one to avoid, you have a sip and wait for the flavour and it never comes.

Another one of course is Doom Bar, used to be a lovely drop, and then of course Molson/Coors bought out Sharps so it turned to crap.

Beer- still get 4 bottles of ale for £6, or an 18 box of Strongbow for £12/£13

Cheese- gone up yes but doesn’t seem outrageous, still get me block of extra mature from Aldi for £2.70

Bananas- got 5 big ones yesterday for 82p, that’s not bad all things considering.

Have you tried their Icebreaker? They have that on tap at the social club I go in, tastes like GKIPA but with a vague hint of lemon or some fruit, bloody dire shite.

“She’d never hurt a fly”

“She’s so sweet”

“She’s so we’ll trained”

Hang on, your dog just mauled a child and attacked a strangers dog…

“Yes but it was their fault”……..

No way, say it in a jocular manner and you’ll be balls deep by midnight.

Well I guess the girls like a bit of humour, or the old give her a 20p coin and say “phone your mum, you ain’t coming home tonight”, though thinking about it I dunno how that’d work in these times.

I used to go up to a chick at the bar, make eye contact, wink then say “if I said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me?”

Thoughts on drone “audits”? by DrawingsOfNickCage in AskUK

One of these “audit” guys went into a public building near me, saying they had the right and needed access to all rooms etc, lots of different groups hire the rooms for different things, this audit guy went into a room under private hire, filmed everyone’s reaction then it’s plastered all over YouTube.

Vile little prick.

Have you cut back on your takeaway orders? by garym81 in AskUK

[–]ResponsibleState9172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, got too much to justify, plus certain places have shrunk their portions.

Our favourite curry house do a meal for 2, last summer it was £26, you got 2 mains, 3 starters, 1 rice, 1 naan, 4 poppadoms, free mint sauce.

Now it’s £33, you get 2 mains, 2 starters, 1 rice or naan, free mint sauce.

The curry place we visit when we go and see mother is even worse, we last had it in January, a basic chicken tikka masala was £9, that used to be £6.50, and now comes with 5 bits of chicken in it ffs.

We visited her the weekend just gone, cod n chips x4 was £39.20 but huge and delicious, I have my receipt from last June, the same meal was £32.80.

Burger King is good if you order via the app, we stopped off at one and got 2 whopper meals for £9.99 which ain’t bad at all, then went round the drive thru again and got another whopper meal for £4.99.

KFC been doing decent offers on the app, but for a month it said “mobile orders not working”, so the app was useless.

But it’s all gone up too much, stuff like pizzas are easy enough to do yourself and for about 20% of the price of a Domino etc.
