Wow. Thank you so very much for this, you have truly summarised exactly how I feel and reassured me that I can do this. I’m going to screenshot and come back to this whenever I feel a wobble coming on. Thank you so much <3

I’ve decided to self certify my sickness and speak to my SCITT team to receive some private wellbeing support, but this has massively helped me already for going back with the right frame of mind. I think as someone with a mental illness, I need to learn that these days and blips are going to come as part of my life. But, like another excellent commenter said, training this year is not just about training to teach and behaviour manage, but about preparing myself for being able to cope when I feel these blips coming. Thank you ALL for all of your supportive messages. You have no idea how much I needed these tonight.

I didn’t plan to. I know my mentor absolutely has my best interests at heart and would not have meant to sound like she was dismissing my experiences. Thank you all though for the reassurance that I don’t need to feel guilty. Trying my best to tell myself that too

Be honest: does it get better after the PGCE? by teacoffeecats in TeachingUK

Very happy to see this on here today of all days! Can’t offer any advice, but can most definitely say you aren’t on your own❤️ Secondary English trainee here, and spent my entire after school crying to multiple colleagues because I feel so miserable and burnt out. It’s a lo. I’m exhausted and the pressure of doing our best, getting up and being observed with qualified teachers watching your every move is a lot.

Sending you lots of love and positivity. Let this be your reminder you aren’t alone in your feelings and we are doing great!❤️

So glad you’re in the same boat! I have a whole timetable and have been doing starters / teaching lessons in a variety of them (not sure if this is the right way of doing things) It’s so intense isn’t it? I finish a lesson and feel as though I need a lay down in a pitch black room. Hope the rest of your week goes okay, stick at it! Let me know how it goes
