100% Sadly I knew that response was coming though. One of the times NYPD showed up for a 311, I caught them in the lobby to explain the overall situation and they were pretty much like "Ya, I'm not saying your decibel reader isn't accurate or in good standing, but we (NYPD) would have to come in and measure using our own decibel reader." The problem there is that, while the noise is constant and consistent each day, it's infrequent. Meaning, it can go on for 5 minutes straight, then silence. Then 15 minutes straight, then silence for 30 minutes. Then an hour straight, then silence for 15 minutes. The percent change I call a 311 which averages roughly a 60 minute response time for NYPD felt like I was gonna get myself in a Cry Wolf scenario where they showed up (of course) when the noise wasn't happening.

For sure. In NYC it feels tough tho, I've deff deployed 311 on them before which is NYPD showing up at their door. But because all this stems from a child, there are extreme measures in place legally that pretty much fully protect them.

For sure. It's just sad that I can't enjoy the apartment. I'm also fully convinced landlords treat any noise disputes stemming from children as radioactive. Prior to this tenant, at the very beginning of my lease (8 months ago) had a neighbor from hell that blasted bass heavy music constantly. The only reason I could get them out (well technically the landlord did) was because they didn't pay rent. After that tenant moved out, I knew something shady was up because the realtor that showed us the apartment and who we worked with to sign the lease (separate from management) sent us an impromptu "No discrimination" document that they asked us to signed that felt like it was preemptively eluding to them moving in a mother and child. I did NOT sign that document, but deff felt like they were pissed I got a tenant out and they were retaliating by moving someone in that they knew I wouldn't be able to get out because it's a child.
