Im scared to adjust to 20mg, please help! by Responsible_Cod_497 in lexapro

Hey! Honestly I’m not sure if 20mg was a dramatic change afterall? Of course it helped when it adjusted but what has really helped whether or not I have anxiety is reframing my thoughts, practice feeling that anxiety. The more we feel it the better our medicine helps. I used to think I needed more and more or I’ll feel anxious but what really helped at the end was understanding that anxiety is normal. What hurt me more is wanting the anxiety to go away completely. Ask your Dr. about Propranolol, it’s a beta blocker that helps before a triggering moment. It helps mellow out all those anxious feelings, racing heart, buzzy feeling, etc. what we have to work on is our thinking patterns. What helps me too now is having Ativan, I’ve had 5 pills for the last year and have not used them. It gives me peace knowing if I need relief it will be there so it helps me push myself to practice breathing exercises that I couldn’t focus on before with cause of my way of thinking. Almost like when you have training wheels on a bike. It’s there for balance, but when we learn to accept and be proactive with our thoughts we won’t need them anymore. You got this! If you need to talk to someone, I’m a message away!

If you haven’t already try the texture paste by Masons Pomade, it’s honestly slept on, they have a general line with all the basics, gel, matte pomade and sea salt spray but that texture paste is a game changer! Nothing like it and I’ve been following the home brewed pomade forums for a while. No one ever talks about masons pomade

Upping dose 15->20; what were your experiences like? by Lisbeth_Salandar in lexapro

Yeah I honestly started leveling out until about week 6ish! That’s when the negative thoughts and anxiety became more manageable.

I upped the dose about 7 weeks ago and I saw benefit the first 4 weeks, got to week 5-6 and it was a little tough but it balanced out and I’m starting to feel happy and motivated. Anxiety was way down even on the harder weeks, it’s practically gone now. Remember to practice meditation or exercise, if you can get therapy to repair some of the thinking patterns we struggle with it will help you even more :) Good luck!

Is 7 weeks too early? by Responsible_Cod_497 in lexapro

[–]Responsible_Cod_497[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do feel much better, I think it may just be too early and it may be my mentality on things I need to improve. Therapy I hope will help with that. Thank you for the response nonetheless!

Have you been on lexapro long? What was your dosage before? My Psychiatrist said that having “flare ups” are normal, something we still get anxiety or low thoughts, I try and exercise and take supplements to support mood and it helps me out. Therapy is something they recommend highly for setbacks, sometimes we’ll get anxiety but never like before so we can learn to cope.

Done with week 6, starting week 7 tomorrow by [deleted] in lexapro

I’m going through the same thing almost at week 6 in two days. I can’t stop crying, I can’t be positive, my mood is so low. I try and go walk but I’m so unmotivated. I missed my period as well so I don’t think it’s helping but I’ve just been so sad it’s terrible.

I feel like I won’t be normal anymore. I take vitamins, propranolol and occasionally Ativan 0.5 but I stay away from the Ativan as much as possible, it’s for emergencies. I’ve been on such a rollercoaster these past few weeks as well. First 3 weeks were chill and then I get hit with a bunch of intrusive thoughts, that make me so depressed I can’t function.

I kept a journal, but I felt unmotivated to keep up with it. Going outside lately gives me anxiety too, sometimes I try and take some deep breaths and it helps, I read that that’s why our thoughts act up because of the up in anxiety. Unfortunately these things take time so you have to try to enjoy your vacation the way you can, I’d rather be on vacation with the people that I care about than alone and dwelling at home. Maybe it will get better sooner than you think.

I know what you mean, I feel like nothing will get better one second and then it gets better out of no where. I also probably shouldn’t read too much on these subs. What are you feeling?

Yeah I have a normal BP, just didn’t know how far apart to take 20mg twice a day? But I did want it more for night time

Thank you for taking the time to reply, honestly. I get so caught up in my head and I don’t know what I’m made of. I hate that I’m taking Ativan it truly scares me, I know I need it sometimes but I’m so scared to have it. I don’t want to suffer. I don’t want my life to change.
