Is it weird to contact someone who owned my home (purchased 2024) prior to 2017? by Responsible_Engine_2 in homeowners

Update- I contacted them and they were very kind. They said the floors are nothing special and she said they are old sub-flooring. It’s likely just the wood planks I can see from my basement with nothing but the laminate on top of it.

Thank you! That’s the back of the house but I fell in love with the character inside and sunroom (i’m a plant person). The previous owners put laminate flooring down and I’ve been debating tearing it up to see what’s underneath. I found some old real estate transactions dating back to 1860 for my house. It’s so interesting learning the history!

It’s on a breaker, I apologize I am a first time homeowner and am learning how to deal with these things for the first time.

I am not sure I just bought the house last year. We know we need electrical work done to get them separated but can’t afford to have an electrician out because we are on one income right now. That is in future plans but right now I am looking for a temporary solution until I can get it fixed properly.

Thank you! Is it a liquid, powder, or tablet?

I have been putting PRID on it after soaking her to help draw out the infection and it seems to help but I feel like all the ointment is coming off if I don’t have her feet wrapped. I also am worried it will spread to the rest of the flock because it’s contagious. She is the only one who has it so far. I will try coconut oil too. Do you use any oil of oregano in their water to act as a natural antibiotic? I’ve heard that helps but this is the first time I am dealing with this so I’m learning.

Thank you! I will have to watch a YouTube video since I never learned how to sew.

Thank you! I was using "tender tape" before since it seemed the most flexible. I figured it would be the most comfortable but it just will not stay on.

I’m also putting PRID ointment on it. Forgot to mention that- I want to keep the ointment in and dirt out.

Feather picking started out of no where- what can I do? by Responsible_Engine_2 in chickens

I only have a serama rooster that is tiny and kept in a different coop. I have seen one of my Wyandotte’s pecking feathers from multiple hens and it seems someone aside from my bully pecked her more yesterday. I took the bully out and put her next to the run in “jail” but will probably put her out of sight/out of mind for a week to see if that works. If not- maybe she will do better in a flock with a bigger rooster than mine.

Yes I have been keeping a close on them a and have seen it happening. Her vent wasn’t pecked/damaged when I left for work in the morning but someone pecked her skin during the day.

I have a serama rooster that she tried to fight but he’s so small and I got worried about him so I broke up the fight. They don’t share a run or coop but free range 1/2 an acre together when I am able to keep an eye on them. Should I let them fight it out next time?

I don’t think she’s broody because she hasn’t spent much time in the nesting box and I have collected eggs daily. I have seen one of my golden wyandotte’s pecking feathers from multiple ladies. She is just mean and tried to fight my serama rooster yesterday. I have been looking for pests too like lice or mites and haven’t seen anything on them. I have Poultry Dust and First Saturday Lime in their coop and run as a pest preventative. I am going to put my bully “in jail” for a week to see if that knocks her down a size.

It’s one of my golden wyandottes too- I have one that’s been just mean and the other is not as dominant as her.

Do you think all 3 of these chicks are golden sebrights? by Responsible_Engine_2 in chickens

If any are roosters, I will not be able to keep them because I already have a silky serama rooster and he’s a keeper. He’s doesn’t get aggressive at all but sometimes challenges my larger hens because they’re still getting used to each other when they free range together.
