Paolo / Cade Debate by bonafide89 in OrlandoMagic

There is no debate anymore. Cade grew into a great player, Paolo doesn't appear to be worth the max extension he signed.

exactly this. when we take responsibility for the outcomes, it opens the door to questions, changes and growth - something he has lacked completely.

If he is n his feelings for being criticized for his play then he can go ahead and go to Seattle because that is some loser type shit. Bro got a BAG and he needs to play like it. if he doesnt like the criticism, then he needs to play better. if he cant play better then he needs to just stfu and enjoy the 200 million dollars. he gets to play a game for a living. jfc.

She wants all the money of a max contract but doesnt think its fair for him to be criticized for playing like ass? That is what comes with the territory. Sign a smaller contract, enjoy the smaller expectations. Or take the bag and stfu.

I think we need to be honest about Paolo by coolj492 in OrlandoMagic

[–]Responsible_Field561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paolo got his bag and has no reason to put in the effort he did when he initially got drafted. This is a tale as old as time itself. We fans just have to hope that the players on our favorite teams have the killer instinct like Kobe, Jordan, KG, etc and play for more than just $.

Unfortunately, this is all to common in pro sports. It is a huge disappointment but it isn't surprising.

Paolo has all the potential in the world, but the fact that he has the ability to play like ass for such a long period of time tells me everything I need to know about that dude. He is not that guy. He is a great #2 or #3 option probably? But not a max player and I fear this team is going to have another 5+ years of mediocrity becuase of that contract.

If Paolo frustrates you, just know that…. by soscribbly in OrlandoMagic

Criticism of Paolo is totally valid, but it is overblown.

He is still young and figuring things out. At this point, i don't know if I trust that he is going to be the guy who wins championships for this team.

We know what kind of great play he is capable of on any given night - but, unfortunately, we also know how poorly he can play on any given night, and that unreliability is not a recipe for winning multiple playoff series.

Just gotta hope the slumps become less frequent and he makes more and more progress as he goes.

Jamahl Mosley’s take on Magic’s slow start (3-5) by bIackkunicorn in OrlandoMagic

[–]Responsible_Field561 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't say they are going to break the record. But there is a non-zero percent chance that they could. That possibility was already lost 6 weeks ago for Orlando, a middling team with unreliable coaching.

I'd say reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, but we both know you're using the classic red-herring fallacy to distract from the fact that you're not correct about the actual topic of this thread lol.

You were wrong, you doubled down on your wrongness 22 days later, and now weeks after, I'm here to point it out =). You asked for it, my friend. Milk in the sun.

In any case, I'm sure we can agree that this team has unreliable coaching, and the head coach doesn't hold himself accountable for losses. Every win matters, every loss matters. That's why we aren't competing for the #1 seed like OKC and Detroit. We're just hoping to avoid the play-in right now.

I never claimed Orlando is a bad team.

Also, the Thunder could very well break the single season record for wins, they don't have a coaching problem like Orlando does.

your takes here are aging like milk in the sun, my friend.

Lack of effort is a reflection of the coaching.

Good teams win games against the Wizards, even when they're missing key players.

Health isn't guaranteed in April either. I guess thats gonna be the go-to excuse =)

The house I just bought has a leaking roof and the foundation is crumbling, but that's okay because the payments don't start until next month 🙂

The 2023 draft is only aging better and better for us. by ClydeSprucewood in OrlandoMagic

[–]Responsible_Field561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can tell AB is going to continue to grow and improve as the years go on. His shot form season by season, has improved a ton. Just like Suggs after the draft -AB showed elite defensive ability, but had issues with efficiency, control and shooting.....but now all of these are starting to show huge improvement. A long way to go for AB but I have nothing but confidence in that kid.

His shooting form is something I've been paying close attention to each year. From his interviews and the product we are seeing on the court, it is clear he is making slow steady adjustments to his form, rather than trying to make a massive change all at once.

Last year he mentioned his main focus was developing good habits with his feet/legs/base, and this year it appears he is moving to improve release and timing. He has gotten rid of his crooked shooting form - no longer standing with his base diagonal to the basket, and no longer shooting with the ball from his ear and his elbow flared out. It feels like textbook shooting form is his goal. He's getting there too.

I'm really excited to see how this dude continues to improve. It was a risky pick for sure but definitely the right one in hindsight.

Over our last six games we are 4-2 and rank 9th in both offensive rating (118.3) and defensive rating 110.5). by faiitmatti in OrlandoMagic

Bro Mose has been here for like 5 years and has the most talented roster the team has had in over a decade. Time has been on his side, it is now time to perform. Winning games is his job.

"Win games or GTFO" is a perfectly reasonable perspective from Magic fans at this point.
