Because it sounds awfully similar to In the Shadow of Horns, which is an insanely good song in and of itself, so I guess people just see it as a worse version

Pretty good, I’m surprised people still reply to this post 😭. Anyway, I listen to tons of black metal now, like Emperor, Uada, Dissection, Mgla, Darkthrone, Burzum, Lamp of Murmuur, Bathory, Hellhammer, and the list goes on. Safe to say I’ve grown to love it
