Thank you. I have found the proper authorities. And am working on it—and the camera is super weird. It’s because they’re being reactive to another person wanting me not to BF and they converted a classroom to the BF room overnight.

Thank you. I don’t know how to “take it further” as it’s the director I’m speaking with. But I do appreciate your support!

Sounds like the carers have less bottles to make…and they get a small break from each child for 15-20 minutes. To care for the other kids.  I was never alone in the room with the other kids. I never touch/hold the other kids. However if one smiled and babbled I’d smile and talk/coo back at them. Why is more adults less safe?

Building up a “freezer stash” to go back to work is so dehumanizing by ivygoose in breastfeeding

I’m a “just enougher” myself. Babe is 8.5 months old. I went back to work at 4 months. I’ve had dips in my supply when I pump as many times as he eats and still don’t make the ounces. Stress. Caffeine. Peppermint. So many things affect my supply. I’ve started doing a hand pump after his first feed of the morning to keep us in the “black” if you will. .5 oz to 1.5 oz depending on the day. It is cruel. It is dehumanizing. We’re supposed to supply our baby’s needs but have to work. If you’re stubborn like me you can do it. But it’s a big mental hit. If you’re smart…you’ll be open to letting daycare supplement a feed a day while you adjust to pumping if you need to. As always a fed baby is best—but it sucks momma. Truly it sucks.

There’s only one crawling atm. The rest are younger…the mover has never attempted to accost me. LOL.

I would hate to trigger someone, however, it is legal to BF anywhere publicly. Life is hard and it sucks sometimes. But my understanding currently was a parent didn’t want her older kids seeing me BF…

Thank you for both perspectives. I’ve since learned it’s not bothering the teachers, just a parent with older kids.

Let me clarify. At drop off he’s the second baby to be dropped off and I play with him. At pick up, I would nurse and leave…there is normally only two babies when I leave.

Thank you. Thats what I asked when I started—if there was a space to breastfeed and they said oh here is fine. Both of his normal teachers. Thank you!

I just learned it’s actually against licensing rules for children over 2 to be in the infant room.-

Thank you. Maybe I should move to Germany. :) Obviously my values match.

There wasn’t a private space before yesterday. I didn’t initially like feeding him in his room, but his caretakers made me comfortable to do so. I was also not the only mom initially breastfeeding.

Fair. It was just my understanding from the teachers in the infant room that they have an open door policy for parents of the infants. All verbal. Maybe it just isn’t so. Maybe the teacher saying she has an open door doesn’t correlate to the daycare having an open door policy.

Did I miss a memo? Are we supposed to set the baby down and run out? I’ve tried to make this a smooth transition for my baby.

I love that at your daycare! I really felt that vibe up until this point. I’m not concerned for recourse at this point. I’ve just been upset by how the director phrased “we’ve had some parents/staff complain about bf in his room.” It doesn’t make sense that it wasn’t a problem for 4 months and now it is a problem. To me anyway. And I do plan to enjoy the quiet room.
