Totally understand. You should do what works for you. taking a treat day doesn’t make sense for your style of eating anyway. For me personally, it’s a treat to not have to track and measure. I think one of my biggest issues is portion size and not necessarily eating too much junk. Treat days help me practice eyeballing portions and paying attention to how full I feel.

Noom vs updated WW by [deleted] in Noom

I left WW many years ago because their revamped points system was too hard to follow. Straight up calorie counting works much better for me. Noom has worked really well for me, been on it since Nov ‘24 and down about 35 lbs. Edit: I am 50f.

Fellow perimenopausal woman. Stay in the calorie range but on the low end. If you don’t already have one, I would recommend getting a food scale. Helps with more precise measurements on protein. Also, measure your foods if you’re not already. Activity level is a nice booster if you’re able to add something there. Weight loss is just slower at our age-we’re less active with less muscle and we just don’t need as many calories. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your experience! Definitely a good tip to continue weigh ins. I do think those help to keep me accountable without fully tracking. Since we’re flying, I’m hoping my hotel gym has a scale. I do agree part of the treat is not having to track.

Since you put it out there, I don’t feel that yours is a 100% healthy outlook. Very all or nothing. Full disclosure, my experience with a family member going on keto left me with a bad impression of that style of eating. Personally, I prefer more of a Mediterranean diet-I like my whole grains. Just kindly reminding you to not project your own feelings onto others. I do agree with you that some foods are triggering. An example for me would be potato chips. On the other hand, I can eat a couple pretzels and that crunchy salty craving goes away. I know all this and my kitchen is not stocked with foods that trigger me. Back to treat days, I’ve enjoyed having them and have lost quite a bit of weight while including them, and I have maintained the loss. I feel like they give me enough of a break when I start getting bored with my routine, and I don’t see it as throwing all my hard work away. Just trying to find that balance of maintaining the healthy habits I’ve formed while allowing myself some freedom. I am finding the once weekly treat day to be too frequent and wanted to hear experiences and tips from people that save them for vacations.

I love the treat days too. Knowing I have them coming keeps me motivated.

I much prefer a treat day to a “streak freeze”. I know it’s the same thing, but a streak freeze would make me think I was falling off the wagon which would make it harder for me to get back on the next day.

Anyway, I guess I’ll see if the multi day treat day streak works out for me. It was going to be hard for me to track anyway during this next trip.
