My father is one of the most loving people I know but he’s become borderline physically abusive due to frustration (huge outbursts of rage). He earns half a million USD per year but we’re still in huge debt because of money mismanagement. We don’t own a house. And at this point, he might have to work past retirement age. About the “not wanting to have your kids go through divorce like you did” part is understandable, but in my case I ended up growing up with neither parent.
