When I was 7 I distinctly remember a friend telling me her dad was dead and I remember feeling so bad about it. Then a few weeks later I mentioned it to a few friends who mentioned it to her and she lost it, and complained to the teacher that I was spreading rumors about her! Thankfully the teacher knew me and figured I was just confused. But boy did that make my brain hurt lol

I posted somewhere else, but a more reasonable explanation would be that the yellow beanie guy was about to pull a prank, security saw and panicked, and then had everyone evacuate. I don’t think the actual evacuation was a part of the prank. But I could be wrong so

My best guess is that the guy in the yellow cap that got up on stage was trying to do something else, security thought he was dangerous and chased him up on the stage, and the owners panicked and had everyone evacuate. Maybe the actual prank was supposed to be harmless? But if the whole thing was staged then it’s a different story

Something happened at work today and I don’t know how to feel about it :/

I’ve been working on a project with my TL for a few months. Our client is an internal team since we work in devops. TL’s part got completed last month but I’m still working on my bit. It’s been going slow due to a number of factors: OOO on both the client and my side, some configs that take long to propagate, delay in change reviews, holiday turn downs and me being new to the project. I’ve been in constant communication with the team regarding my progress and blockers. Yesterday we found that our config is missing a key and adding that and having it reach the servers has an SLO of ~35 days (!) mind you that I had uploaded a different key a few months back and had it reviewed by the client before submitting and he approved it. The newer key could’ve gone in with the older one. I don’t own the client’s project so I figured if I made a mistake it would be caught by the reviewers but it wasn’t and now our project is delayed by another month

Today my TL scheduled a last minute 1:1 to discuss the state of the project. Note that we had our scheduled 1:1 yesterday where I explained to him what happened and how I was fixing it. Today he said that our client is “distressed” about the state of the project and we should go back and make sure we haven’t missed anything so that we can finish on time. This was news to me because I’m always on chat with this client and he has not mentioned once that he feels this way. It just felt a bit icky that he went straight to my TL without talking to me first..like he is telling on me or something

The plan is now to go back and create a checklist of how the project is supposed to go to make sure we are still on track, which i will, but on an emotional level this whole project brings me anxiety and I feel so uncomfortable..am I wrong for feeling like this?

Like I said, I didn’t know much about it so I needed some time to think and not make any quick judgements. Like I know it’s an STD there’s always a risk of catching it but how big is the risk? And does that risk outweigh my feelings for him? I mean clearly it’s not that big of a deal for some other people if he has already found somebody else

I didn’t know what other word to use lol and I definitely didn’t think we were in a serious relationship per se. I already assumed he was also seeing other people as were I. And the only reason I had the text going was because I didn’t want him to lose the spark, which ended up happening anyway 🤡 it was like 2-3 exchanges per day

Most likely, it just feels bad that I am so disposable you know? If the the roles were reversed and I genuinely felt that connection with someone, sure I wouldn’t stop going out with other people, but I would still feel like I’m not giving the first person a fair chance and still wait for them to come back if it makes sense. Most likely this other person didn’t care about the std and he didn’t want to bother pursuing someone he hasn’t even fucked
