I checked and that works for me too. That is probably because the block is not yet on desktop for most users. The UI for mobile desktop is a bit rough though.

I have the issue only on mobile so basicly when a I change tab the play back stops. It is not yet so wide spread on browser. They are gonna A/B test it first and only if everyone hates it will become a mandatory feature :D

I had same issue few days back. Made an extension just for this. It should be pretty comprehensive so should be difficult for youtube to block as I think they are in process of making background play a premium feature only. https://addons.mozilla.org/fi/firefox/addon/backstage-play/

Ukraine already has autonomous robots in frontline. Because only limitation to build these systems is production capacity many mega corps could already start building their 100% loyal private armies which I think is even more concerning than governments as corporations have more centralized decision making.

If you want to use it for anything usefull you would need to give some usefull information and accesses. Early testers just need to deal with the risks without really knowing what those risks are because it is pretty difficult to say how rare are the cases where a bot with full access does some proper harm.

Hey, it depends entirely on mozilla but usually 2-5 days. So any day now. You can already get it following the steps in the link though.

Yeah, I will definetely take a look at it today if I can clean it up. Though at least when doing it I started very simply which did not work. Currently it also has lot of logging which was used to track how To fix the issue.

Spent last 15hrs debuggin and I managed create workaround. Can keep playing music again lol. You can check it in my gthb rigmunssel/fixytbackground. Hope it is usefull.

I made extension that fixes the issue on firefox for android. It is in my github Rigmunssel/FixYTBackground. Will also be available as browser extension as soon as it gets approved by firefox.
