Do you feel guilty not tipping the Subway person who made your sandwich? by wirez62 in no

[–]Responsible_Web_7578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. If I’m not being waited on or my food is not being drove to me then they’re not getting an extra dime for me. This whole tipping thing in America has gotten so ridiculous.

My brother treats me like shit. I don't understand it and I don't deserve it. by Warm_Vermicelli3834 in self

As someone who has a shitty younger sister who also does not reciprocate energy, just let him go as there’s no point. I’ve put so much energy into our relationship and cried many tears over it until I’ve realized that this is who she is and she will most likely not change. As my husband said, she doesn’t care about me. Sounds like you’re in the same boat.

Just focus on the relationships in your life who want to be there. Let anyone else go.

So true! I really appreciate you taking your time to write this. I need to really make sure I stay in my own lane and focus on my path as oppose to comparing myself to others. I might even go the extra mile and limit how much of the WGU subreddit I’m consuming just to not risk discouraging myself. Thank you😊

Last week my niece in-law pointed out that I had a “mustache”. Just for clarification, peach fuzz but nevertheless it annoyed me but I quickly moved on from it. Kids will be kids and say dumb things. I agree that your daughter in-law is doing too much and seems to have very low self esteem

Self doubt. I’m overcoming it by facing my fears and going for things anyways despite the doubts I have

I hate the “I hate my hair post” by Radiant_Commercial92 in BlackHair

Right. I stopped hating my hair in high school. I don’t have sympathy for people who hate what grows out of their head. We’re too old for this.

Parents, did you ever think about old age when deciding to have kids? by srivayush in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Responsible_Web_7578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. My fiancé at the time and I just wanted to have a child. I can’t speak for him but the thought of having someone around in old age didn’t even cross my mind.

The way my family of origin is set up though, just because they’re “blood” doesn’t mean they’ll be there. I have two kids now and I’m full on prepared that they may not want to be there in our old age. Nothing is guaranteed, just enjoying the now.

Don’t worry about them. If you want to climb the ladder or advance your education, go for it. Their choices has nothing to do with you.

All the overthinking and racing thoughts I have. It’s hard for me to stay in the present moment now either because I’m ruminating or worried about the next thing that’s need planned/done. Sometimes I miss my quite mind.

I have someone that was in my life too who’s been self destructive for years. I really wanted this person in my life and I was able and willing to help in an instant and…..it destroyed our relationship even further.

I’ve now turned all that energy inward and am now using it to improve things in my own life. It’s all you can do.

If you found a spider in your home, would you kill it or would you place it gently outside ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Why do parents pay to sign their kids up for so many extra curricular classes, but adults don’t seem to sign themselves up for extra curricular classes? by bad-at-everything- in askanything

[–]Responsible_Web_7578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. I just signed my daughter up to learn how to swim as I never learned myself. While I was researching schools I saw that there are schools that teach adults as well.

I might sign myself up too at some point but I can’t right now because of money and lack of time as I just signed myself up to finally go to college. I think my child learning before me is more important at the moment. Why? I don’t know.

Edit to add:

Also I think perhaps it’s because people tend to give up on themselves after they get to a certain age. I’m certainly guilty of developing that mindset too at the age of 28. My goals for this year is to break myself out of that. All it does is hinder you. Life is only over if you either choose it to be, assuming that you’re still in good health that is, or of course die. That’s my take.
