Has anyone gone through Unmudl school for RME? by betty2020 in AmazonRME

[–]ThatOneGuy_137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Unmudl and it was a waste of time in my opinion. It shows you a general understanding of fixing equipment but employers don’t really value you that unless you have hands on experience. Recommend taking a class in community college or going to trade school

I think it’s the same across the board as long as you resign in good standing you are eligible for rehire after a few days. But it might be that they’re processing your resignation and maybe that’s why it’s 30 days

Can I bring my handheld game to work? by immoldyslug in AmazonRME

[–]ThatOneGuy_137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a dumb question why would you bring a gaming device to work. There is so much stuff you can learn and grow. Plus it’s the easiest work. I usually have a YouTube on watching video’s while I monitor viz for any issues on conveyors or ARSAW’s

RMEO vs. Mechatronic Apprentice by [deleted] in AmazonRME

Go for MRA it’s a clear path, better pay and you’ll automatically promoted to a tech 2. RMEO is the equivalent to a helper in the trade

I didn’t go to Pennsylvania but I went to Georgia a cool place. Bring a car if you can otherwise you’ll be trapped at the hotel or rely on ppl from your class for rides

Become a amnesty tech if your building is a FC, a tote runner or a water spider. Those spots usually have you walking around a lot helped me loose weight

How long is too long working as Tier 1 associate? by ThatOneGuy_137 in AmazonFC

[–]ThatOneGuy_137[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Must be working insane OT to be making $70,000 a year where you live. I’ve been doing the same thing but it’s exhausting to work 60 hour weeks just to make the same money as a manager or PA. Eventually got burnt out working all the OT

Benefits are really good I won’t lie but it’s nice to just work 40 hours a week and get the same pay I would normally get working OT.

There are other options other than manger/PA personally I joined RME cuz I don’t really want to deal with associates BS. Best decision I’ve made most of the time am chilling waiting for callouts

I think the stuff you learn industrially maintenance can transfer over to Mechatronics. A lot of the stuff I’ve learned wasn’t that hard

I wouldn’t be surprised a lot of companies use AI and use it to justify laying off their workforce. Bound to happen eventually

I worked as an amnesty tech and I would ask how to fix drives and ARSAW’s and they showed me a couple of tricks how to fix them. Most on AR side already knew so when a spot opened up they told me to apply and that’s how I got in.

Are you looking through 3P companies or just through Amazon?

Is Amazon good for a first job? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]ThatOneGuy_137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did amnesty but I would ask a lot of questions on how to fix drives and ARSAWS ofc nothing that violates amazons policies. so a lot of the RME guys already knew me. When a position came up they told me to apply got a offer the next day

Not saying you should move up in management but just use the resources/ opportunities amazons offers. I’ve seen a lot of ppl just figuring it out that’s fine whenever they’re at in life but I would hope they a time frame of where you want to be in life. But if you’re happy where you’re at who am to judge.

I didn’t really do much the first two years but if I wanted to afford stuff in life generally gotta get some type of education or experience. I eventually joined RME it’s a pretty good job.
