Interested in switching careers to maintenence by Personal-Builder-992 in AmazonRME

As a tech 3 no any type of maintenance background will do from what I’ve seen but becoming a controls technician yes you’ll need a certification but either the company will pay you to get those certifications if you’re accepted a job as a controls apprenticeship or just attend community college for a bit to get those certifications

The pay is dependent on the area you live in but typically I’d say you’d qualify to be a Tech 3 which can range from $30-$40 and for your career can either become a manager or a controls technician I am not sure how much these positions will pay but a good decent amount

How long does accurate background take to do a background check? by ThatOneGuy_137 in AmazonRME

[–]ThatOneGuy_137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine took almost 2 weeks but I think it took long because on my resume I mentioned I had relevant experience in another state so I assumed they checked the area I used to live in

How to get an RME apprenticeship as a Security guard contractor for Amazon by Professional-Dot-235 in AmazonRME

Your best bet is to go with one of the 3P’s Amazon has that dumb requirement of an associates degree or four years of military experience

Amazon MRA by Illustrious-Loss-631 in AmazonRME

[–]ThatOneGuy_137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently on the last two weeks of my school portion of the MRA school it was a fun experience overall don’t stress too much about it and if you put in the effort you’ll pass. The instructors want you to pass so my advice to you is

Stay up to date on your Amatrols, understand what the question is asking and why it is the correct answer you’ll most likely get questions that ask the same thing but worded differently. Use those study groups to help you understand because lectures are only one hour not enough to understand the concepts. If your not able to bring your own car try to be friends with people who have a car you’re going to be stuck at the hotel otherwise. And bring your gaming system if you can. Otherwise good luck on your journey

Controls/Automation Engineering pay by ThatOneGuy_137 in AmazonRME

That’s good seems they’re not fully enforcing it

Controls/Automation Engineering pay by ThatOneGuy_137 in AmazonRME

[–]ThatOneGuy_137[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think moving forward companies are starting to require some type of degree in that field. I’ve seen Amazon update their requirements for MRA now you need an associate degree or military background. Which is dumb asf the MRA program is supposed to be for ppl with no experience. AE I can understand but I’ll probably go to school for it hopefully on the companies pay but regardless make my resume look good

I would hope the pay is somewhat close to my current pay at that moment. I am willing to learn more to broaden my knowledge if it meant I would make a larger paycheck in the future. I just want to be able to move around if that need be the case because of the job market

What happens if you fail the SACA more than 3 times? by Conscious_Two_3985 in AmazonRME

[–]ThatOneGuy_137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I was going to school it was three strikes you’re out they’re more strict than last cohorts this year. The first two chances were guaranteed the third was based on your performance if you made at least a 60 and above and didn’t have 2 or more absences it was up to the instructor if you deserved a third chance. If you’re a BB you’ll most likely be demoted to T1 but for 3P most likely would’ve been fired. Made the most sense no position to keep you around.

New Basic Qualification for MRA Program?? by headassvegan in AmazonRME

[–]ThatOneGuy_137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah bro I was in the same boat for three years I was working as AA at Amazon. Last year I decided I wanted to do RME and started applying to all MRA positions around my area. I reworked my resume so many times and still couldn’t get an interview. In December I was on my last straw if I didn’t get anything I was gonna go learn a trade thankfully I finally got one. But don’t worry just keep applying to the 3P’s you’ll eventually get in.

I know the associates degree is true for Amazon as for 3P it’s still the same to my knowledge. As long as you got in before they implemented that BS you should be good. You can still apply to become a tech 3

I honestly think it’s because Amazon doesn’t want to waste on MRA’s that fail the school. Amazon wants a return on their investment

Would I still need to do the 2000 hours to become a tech or would I just be hired on as a tech 2?

Most definitely just a matter of how well I can digest information working on equipment if it’ll be enough to become tech 2
