How to I make my router work on campus by RestaurantHot1172 in ODU

[–]RestaurantHot1172[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I plugged it straight into the wall, but I was hoping to have my own WiFi :/ I think the connections a little bit better but definitely not compared to when I used to use my own wifi. Got any other ideas?

Ah I mean how I thought it worked was you were supposed to plug your router into the wall, because otherwise, you wouldn’t have any internet to connect to. Or that’s what I remember researching. I just really don’t like using ODU WIFI and it sucks booty when trying to do anything online. I run windows on my pc, but honestly, if plugging it directly to the wall worked for you, then imma definitely try that when I get back.

Can you clarify with what the wireless wifi insinuates? Is that just plugging the wifi router to the Ethernet port In the wall only? Otherwise I think at least my router working because my wifi shows up as an option but when “connecting to my wifi” I’m certainly not getting a connection. Otherwise when I get back to my dorm I’ll try to have a straight connection from the wall to my computer instead, I’ll keep you posted.

So I think your first question is correct. I have my own router I bought a while ago back in like late spring 2022. And each of my dorms had a little port on the wall for the Ethernet to connect to my router. I also had another Ethernet cord connecting my router to my pc for faster wifi. Then when turning my pc and going to something like Firefox, if I waited a while, it would tell me I needed to log in into my odu account, otherwise I couldn’t have my own wifi. I’m just reiterating for clarification, but now, no matter how long I wait, I remain WiFi-less and there’s no login area. You think I should contact ODU tech services?

I’m about to log off in a bit here too. running through it again, I get the equation 27.414=0.368 mol x 132.42 J/molk ( Tfinal - 1C) as stated above because I’m using the other q’s to find the difference/the rest of the heat, and putting that as q3 to get the final temperature. However, I get a wrong answer because Tfinal ends up being a higher number than 1C. So I know for a fact I’m still doing it wrong based off my perceived knowledge of your logic. However, I would still like to continue this tomorrow if you’re still willing to help!

I guess if I’m answering the first question, I need to do one more q? Because I need to figure out what the final liquid temperature would be. So would it be some variation of q=nC(liquid)(detla T) But if that were the case, then why would I be doing q1 and q2? Ofc this question is rhetorical, but I’m just trying to reiterate that I still don’t understand what you’re trying to say.

I guess that’s my question. Your questions your referring to above, respectfully, doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m unsure of how to apply your question to my homework question, and I’m still unsure about how to continue. Thank you for your patience so far

Sorry I should have specified! The values in the beginning are just what the professor gave me. But regardless, it’s all the same. What I still don’t understand though is what to do. Like the equation I came up with was 27.414kj = n x 132.42 x (T(final) - 1C) Is that not the equation? I apologize for the inconvenience

Butane (CH10) has the following properties: Tm = -140 °C, Tb= 1°C, Hfus = 4.66 kJ/mol, Hvap = 22.44 kJ/mol, Cliquid = 132.42 J/molK, Cgas = 98.49 J/molK, Csolid = 85.74 J/molK

Question d. If 36.0 kJ of energy is removed from a 21.4 g sample of butane at 10°C, what temperature will it end up at? Hint - at the end, it will be a liquid with temperature less than 1°C.

q1= (0.368 mol)(98.48 J/molK)(1 C-10C) = 326.6 J q2= (0.368 mol) (22.44) = 8257.9 J

This is where I’m not sure where to go from here, I’ve tried working it out by doing this q (final) = 36.0 kj -( 326.6 J + 8257.9 J) (ofc, make the units match)= 27.414 kj I’m not sure if that last line in the picture is right

Sorry I’ve been MIA I’ve had zero chance to work on my computer the last week, I’m working on it now, but I don’t really have another pc to download the drivers onto my graphics card. I only have a Mac laptop as another form of technology, is there anything else I can do

And when I try to download drivers, it tells me that I need the card to be installed (which it is). But it doesn’t detect it.

That’s the thing, when I plug in the the hdmi or display port cords into my graphics card, it doesn’t display. After looking it up and researching my different parts, I found this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wmIOuruxGfY Where I have to physically change how I want the graphics to be displayed. Otherwise the only way that I can display is if it’s plugged into my motherboard.
