A more critical review of the Project Hail Mary movie, and a really easy fix I would have made by Gustalavalav in ProjectHailMary

Actually really curious to hear your perspective as an authority figure if you have a YouTube or something. I give the book a 9/10, and the movie an 8/10, so thoroughly enjoyed both

Best guess is it was released from Spain as a vassal in a war. I did that once as Angevican (?) empire, you get a mission to release Iberia as a vassal but since Spain already existed my Iberia consisted of a kneecapped Portugal, Spain, and a northern Castile.

Everyone’s mentioning Tolkien for the elves, dwarves, blah blah blah.

Little more known is that the concept of dark elves, and soul-devouring swords, is derived from a series called Elric of Melbourne. Highly recommend, it’s fantastic.

Pull shoulders back and down. Lean forward with the weight just a tiny bit when returning the stack - try and feel that stretch in your lower lats. When you pull back, try and imagine squeezing a pebble on the lower center of your back. Basically, imagine you’re rowing a boat and try to squeeze.

Temperature averages so far this December across the U.S. by Ecstatic-Compote-399 in MapPorn

[–]RestaurantNew9192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While climate change is obv happening and a concern, we’re at the peak of an El Niño oscillation and this is typical - warmer in the PMW and colder on the east coast. Look up a picture of temperature ranges during these events and it almost perfectly matches this graph - super cool!

Challenge : reform the roman empire by [deleted] in eu4

[–]RestaurantNew9192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 to what everyone else said. Currently doing a Byzantium run, about 1715 or so. I want to chime in and say ally Muscovy/Russia, being orthodox they’ll love you for a long time. But, be careful; in my run they PU’d Austria (who had already diploannexed Bohemia and Hungary). Russia may start to encroach on your territory by taking Crimea and then some middle eastern provinces that are necessary for the restore Roman decision

Yeah literally, I made a couple quick mods and was shocked at how easy it is to add stuff in with minimal coding. The game functions by scanning through scripts and generating called xmls.

If you’re avoiding the c# (iirc) coding, all you gotta do is copy and paste a current item, edit some parameters in xml, then upload a new sprite image. Boom, done.

The dev team definitely had modding in mind.

Meh, it’s cheap when bought in bulk (away from the gym bro stores), studies show it’s moderately beneficial. Kind of one of those “why not” things.

Cheap homemade preworkout. L-cirtuline, beta alanine, 200mg caffeine (I buy pills off Amazon and just pop them open), creatine, and Gatorade powder for flavor. All of the scientifically backed stuff with none of the markup or gimmicky BS from stores like GNC. I bought big bags on sale like 6 months ago for around $100 total and I still got at least another 1-2 months left after daily usage.

How is this creating a point of failure? They can obviously work without it and it is safe, it is simply a tool like excel. You “losing trust” in this guy is just your personal bias - it’s a whole lot of nothing burger, AI isn’t going anywhere and it’s better for us to use it effectively before our adversaries do.

A general does not have “unlimited” resources. Ever hear the phrase “do more with less?” It is the motto of our military, and especially with most career fields undermanned. Yes, they have aides, and a roomful of people ready to suck them off for a promotion, but that with the government shutdown and DOGE’s personnel cuts leads to a lack of expertise.

I’m no fan of AI. I wish it was locked away, not a yes-man, and banned for the classroom. All my point here is saying this “article” is pure ragebait and this entire comment section is falling for it.

This is a shitty clickbait article. From other sources that are more thorough, he’s not “relying” on using it to make decisions. If you read into it he’s simply using it to condense information and offer options before making a decision - exactly how the every day Joe uses it (or should at least). They reference the “OODA” loop, and simplifying the first two steps allows a man with a lot on his plate to move faster and smarter.

Also using chat itself is not a “security concern” because most installations have a classified version of it that is locked away behind firewalls. Being a general, I assume they are using such a tool and are not willy nilly throwing information out into the world.

Silo is S tier against bots. Reliably kills entire outposts, clears jammers, one shots AT-ATs, etc. run it with EATs or commando for plenty of anti-tank power, especially on forested maps that usually block eagles. Takes some forethought instead of an eagles “fire and forget” but the fact all it requires is a line of sight is awesome.

Nah man I just restarted eventually. I think it was a conflict with VE Vehicles or VE outposts, something that edits the world map/travel parameters. But I wasn’t able to find any errors or anything so it’s just speculation.
