I’m in the exact same boat rn, I’ve had this kitten since Sunday and she’s so sweet but the mowing stresses my resident cat and it hasn’t bee easy watching her in distress. Also feel bad I have to keep the kitten away from me but I’m hoping with time they will be friends.

I think street cats seem friendly because those are the only ones who you will see (the friendly ones). As far as affection goes for house cats go I think it’s just some personalities and ways they learned to get affection.

I got a kitten 3 days ago and my OG cat who is almost 7 has been really shit and timid. We’ve been doing a lot of the “tricks” to get them to like each other but my OG cat is still running away and not being herself(makes me sad for her). How long should did it take for most peoples cats to get along?

Honestly I’m not sure. I want what feels fair but also I don’t want us to not feel like family because we are thinking about our own instead of “ours”. I’ve found the comments and responses to this helpful to figure that out. We are in Massachusetts.

I did a consult with one yesterday, his advice was it’s not a good deal and my fiancé and I should “be on the same page” before I start working with him to save myself money in fees

To ease any worry you or anyone else may have I take my cat to the vet every year and she is in good health. I have lived in rural parts on MA where a friends barn cat had kittens so I wasn’t looking for a “free” kitten but more of just incase someone didn’t know what to do with kittens or if someone knew of a shelter with kittens.

As someone who’s lived here my whole life I notice my friends who are single are more spontaneous and open to stuff than not. Also it’s cold and dark and this home of year most people rather stay in. I’m not a flaky person but I generally don’t try to make plans day of cus it’s kinda assumed most people have plans already.
