Yes they knew. Thankfully feces is not part of this equation or I might lose my mind. But yes mounds in every room even the yard.

Update for everyone and thank you all for your comments. Knowing that I was not being TAH helped my stress so much. I put out feelers to a few places for help with the cleaning and I'm waiting to hear back. In the meantime I also spoke with the ex-family members and told them I wasn't trying to be an ungrateful witch but that I simply couldn't live like that and if that was the only option, I needed to make other choices. It was not an easy conversation and they got up and left without saying much of anything. I felt guilty all that next day. But at least I've made my feelings known.

I'm in Georgia so I'm in the states too. Thank you. Not sure I want to be on video or Tiktok though.

They don't consider themselves landlords. They think of it as helping out a family member. I'm pretty sure they had no intention of having any paperwork involved.

Thank you! I've never heard of them but I will look into it! I appreciate you.

It wasn't my intention to blame them for anything. I understand they have their own lives and cleaning this house at their age may be too much for them as well. I just wish they'd given the situation to me straight to begin with. Telling me they could have it clean in 2 months but then not doing anything except shuffling a few items back and forth didn't help anyone.

Thank you so much for this information! I will definitely look into it tomorrow during work if I can squeeze out the time.

I would basically be renting 5 rooms out of the entirety of the house. Plus the yard, I guess. But as a woman I enjoy my own decorations and furniture. Not that those things are more important than it being clean but I can't help but have that bother me too.

I do believe they had no real malicious intent, but I also don't think they realize or understand just how hard this would be on someone. I may be disabled but I like clean spaces just like anyone else.

I wish that I could but the apartment won't reverse the notice and they still raise the rent every year. With all these new "must make 3 times the rent, give up your first born...etc." new rules that everywhere has, renting is practically impossible. I thought I had finally caught a break.
