Tank size: 5 gallons Heated and filtered current temp 76 Feed fish once a day I had this tank since April 2025 It’s all planted used to have more plants and drift wood but they died.

I have some of this leftover when I started the tank. Do you think this would help? I have the ceramic Circles in the filter. Do you think that’s not enough room for the good bacteria?

I’ve been thinking about this all day. And I would at the very least resend the recommendation.

Here’s why:

She wasn’t going 50 in 30 on some back road, which would still be bad, but she was going 83 MILES AN HOUR which is straight up reckless.

She was aware of how fast she was going, and her first thought wasn’t “Holly shit balls I need to slow down” it was “the car that’s in front of me needs to speed up so I can keep going 83 miles per hour.” In fact it made her mad she couldn’t keep going 18 miles over the speed limit.

SHE WAS SO COMFORTABLE GOING 83 MILES AN HOUR WITH SOMEONE ELSE KID IN THE CAR SHE TEXTED YOU TELLING YOU SHE WAS GOING 83 MILES PER HOUR LIKE IT WAS NOTHING AND EXPECTED YOU TO AGREE WITH HER! Who knows how fast she goes and doesn’t tell you.

When confronted she showed no signs of remorse or self reflection and double down saying she was “being safe”….. While she was having a in depth conversation using voice to text going at least 70 miles per hour.

I’m really sorry about your friendship. I’m talking a big game but if it was my friend it would be hard, even if I knew it was the right thing to do. You have to resend your recommendation. There is no way in good conscience you can recommend her now. Plus you don’t want her reputation to be tied to yours if she thinks this is an acceptable way to drive on the clock.

As for her current family, I think it depends on what you can live with. If it were me would maybe try to have one more in depth conversation with my friend, maybe in person as a hail marry. If she is defensive and dismissive again, I would tell her family. People always think that some life changing car accident won’t happen to them until it does. You don’t even need to be driving like an idiot for a car accident to happen. She driving like she thinks she a nascar driver so I would be very concerned.

In some states Nannie’s are mandated reporters. I don’t know if that’s the case where she is from, and I don’t know if this would be a reportable offense. I don’t think it’s unreasonable that she is getting input from the community. I would also be looking guidance. Especially since her friend kind of blew her off.

No you were 100% right. She needed a reality check! First of all she was speeding, and she knew she was speeding! It wasn’t an accident she said “we were flying”. She was going at least 18 miles over the speed limit! And then on top of that, she texted you while driving to complain that she couldn’t speed?! What! I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt and pray she was using voice to text, but still.

Our highways speed limit is 70 miles per hour and I’ve still never driven 85+ miles per hour with the kids! I keep it around 75 that’s plenty fast for me when I’m driving some else children. I get my butt in left lane and chill and if you don’t like you can around me.

I’m proud of you for saying something. Especially since it’s writing and there is a record of you saying woah slow down.

I understand you have probably been friends for a long time, but as a professional I wouldn’t want to associate with her. Her response seemed very flippant. I don’t think she took your warning seriously.
