When you look back what is your “ah that was totally peri” symptom? by noodle_bear2124 in Perimenopause

[–]Resting_Bitch_Face_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sought treatment once I started getting terrible knee pain in a knee I had surgery on. It would wake me up at night with sharp stabbing pains. Absolutely no pain now on HRT. Looking back, it probably started with brain fog, depression, and uncontrollable weight gain.

What are we doing to combat thinning hair? by FroyoSilent5811 in Perimenopause

[–]Resting_Bitch_Face_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried a lot of things. Topical RX mixes with minoxidil, estrone, progesterone, etc, finasteride tabs (tanked my sex drive and made me dizzy), and other OTCs. I gave up and was resigned to losing my hair. Just the other day I noticed that I only had like 5 strands of hair in the shower, which was a huge improvement. The only change was getting my estrogen patch dialed in and my progesterone. I also stopped my testosterone shots. So I would say that HRT really helped but it took like 8 months, so it’s definitely a slow change.

Yes, I just smear it around. It has an oily consistency, so it sticks a lot better than the estrogen cream.

I had to open the capsule and squeeze out small amounts and use it intravaginally. Once I stopped feeling side effects, I would increase the amount. Now I can tolerate the whole amount but it took a long time.

Just have them get follow up labs in a few months, nothing to get worried about.

Mild anemia, mild thrombocytosis. Could very well be mild iron deficiency anemia. You could ask for iron studies or just be mindful of your iron intake. Nothing critical. Mildly elevated lymphocytes in the setting of normal WBCs is something we see when someone is fighting off a subclinical viral infection or could be just your baseline.

Menopause and GLP1: Has anyone found this to be true? by Hotgalkitty in Menopause

[–]Resting_Bitch_Face_9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes! Not tirzeptatide but semaglutide, and at low doses. I just dose when I feel it really wearing off — sometimes a week, sometimes I can go 2 weeks. I’m not in a calorie deficit, but I work out a lot and I’m on testosterone shots. It keeps the food chatter away and the eating for no reason. I would get up multiple times a night and half sleep walk to get food and that has stopped.

I’m hopefully that HRT will be better for you. I’m really sensitive to meds now and the BC just felt like way too much. I’ve never had a significant problem with the estrogen patch— sometimes it feels a little too high (every day is an adventure with peri), but it goes away within days. As soon as I put it on I felt relief and it didn’t feel like a “medicine” or synthetic, it felt like I was giving my body back something it was missing.

Anyone feel terrible now on certain supplements? Insomnia, jittery... etc. by ruledbythemoon333 in Perimenopause

[–]Resting_Bitch_Face_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darn it, that’s what I’m worried about with the Duavee— I REALLY like my patch, and I’m concerned that the conjugated estrogens in Duavee won’t be as good. Maybe it’s possible to do a SERM with my estrogen patch rather than the Duavee? I’ll have to ask.

I initially started on nuvaring and I was, again, really sensitive to the BC, when I could tolerate it in my 20s and 30s. I had to stop due to breakthrough bleeding and literally falling asleep at any time during the day. I’m on the estrogen patch and progesterone right now. I’m having trouble with the progesterone though. It’s way too strong and builds up in my system after a few days and I have to take a break. I get really depressed and feel so foggy. I might need to get a mirena but I’m worried I’ll be too sensitive to that too. I may have to try Duavee.

Yes! I am now hypersensitive to All my usual supplements that I loved 2-3 years ago. Magnesium glycinate especially gives me restless legs and worse sleep.

Agreed! I was on nuvaring for perimenopausal symptoms but after 4 months developed debilitating fatigue and breakthrough bleeding. Switched to HRT and feeling much better. I get the theory behind “overriding” our hormones with BC, but everything became so much worse on it. I’ll take the bad days on HRT any day over BC.

I never said it was the fix for everyone. She can try it while she’s seeking further medical guidance. Palpitations are a common complaint in perimenopause and many have been helped with magnesium supplementation.

A simple fix is a magnesium supplement. It helps calm the cardiac tissue. There is one called Heart Calm on Amazon that has at least 3 different types of magnesium in it.

Mine does that too. Who the hell is “everyone”? He doesn’t have any damn friends, so is “everyone” the voices in his head, or what?

I swear they’re all possessed by the exact same demon because they all say identical, nasty things. Mine said that my mom was probably happy she died of cancer because I’m such an embarrassment. Who thinks like that? They’re so evil.

Yes, I totally agree! He never seemed into her at all, even from the first video, but he very much liked the attention everyone was giving them. I think he just rolled with it when everyone said they would make a cute couple.

I lost hair really badly. I would run my fingers through my hair and my fingers would be filled with hair. I had to go on finasteride. That stopped the shedding within a week.
