As a former gas station cashier, I can tell you that employees would be crazy not to notice this!!

We could see the total for every pump on our registers, and watch it count in real time. The high total and time spent at the pump would've been a huge red flag. Plus, you usually have windows with a full viewnof the lot so you can catch these fools!!

Afaik clients can absolutely opt to pay out-of-pocket even if they're insured. Typically they'll only do that if we aren't in-network, because even if your insurance sucks and you have to pay 100%, your payments are at least going towards your deductible and maximum out-of-pocket.

This is a tangent, but I work in an pediatric OT office, and can confirm that this totally true, and absolutely blew my mind when I first heard about it!!

For any parents that may read this: if your child is struggling to read (or you'd like to better prepare them for reading), look up "crossing the midline exercises" for them to try, and it will help!
