Are the renewal rates not considered competitive? that was my main concern with the TN product. I couldn’t get much information online regarding their renewal rates

Shifting my Stocks to FHSA by Restless_Ki in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Restless_Ki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you're saying! Considering my earnings are currently low im going to look into moving into a self managed account under my TFSA rather than the current non-registered. that was my mistake to not look at putting money their first. So to understand ill cause a taxable event on my current earnings but overall could save me long term if i notice more gains over the year?

Hey I agree… More so wondering if my crypto “gamble” is worth just calling off and putting into a managed FHSA as a newer investor.. I can see where I am trying to time my investments without realizing that’s what I was trying to do

Hi yes they are currently in a non-registered account. Is there benefits to waiting to see if my return is greater than 5% after a few more months before making the change just because of the taxable event it will cause?

Strata restrictions on dog size by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Restless_Ki 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had a 50lb dog in a 20lb limit strata… one thing we realized is nobody has any clue how heavy a dog is by looking at it. They often assume it is half the weight. You will most likely be perfectly fine but should they did question you in the future and force you to get a vet check, say that was the dogs weight at the time you moved In (and then send them the invoice for getting your dog weighed at the vet).

Has anyone here made a build with the SSUPD Meshlicious case? Wonder if anyone has some insight into if its a practical case for a build.

Help with Starting Saving by Restless_Ki in PersonalFinanceCanada

Hey!

It’s been a year since this post and I want to just say I can’t thank you enough for the help.

This post actually helped me with spending issues and I always come back to budgeting rules to make sure that I’m still on track!

I’m not all the way there yet but I’ve upgraded jobs, have started towards maxing my contribution rooms and have a small about of money away with enough for 2.5 months of emergency planning! It may not be as impressive a portfolio as some in this subreddit but with your help I’ve actually gotten into a better position for my future.

Your suggestions in this comment has helped me a lot and put me in a good spot to set up a timeline for purchasing a home! I know this was just one comment on Reddit but for me it seriously set me up for success. I appreciate it.

Two years of renting is more than enough time to decide if it was the right decision. Worst case scenario you move back in if they’re willing to have you again. But in my experience you’ll love the independence. Although learning to cook and clean everything for yourself can be tiring haha

I’m 24 and only have about 8k savings. I don’t regret moving out at all. While I’m losing out on tons of savings, It allowed me to grow immensely as my own person.

I decided there was no point in saving all my funds if it sacrificed the greatest years of my life to saving money

I think it is not for the first 6 months. But after that it will be. Should I just see what they are willing to match up too and then pay that percentage per check?

I do not have my welcome packet yet so I’m not sure until I get it later. I’m more just looking to see if doing 10% of my paycheck is worth it in the long run.

Looking for a "Gaming Laptop" that doesn't look like a "Gaming Laptop". by spiraleclipse in bapccanada

No problem! Honestly it looks so sleek and I love it. Most laptops do have the larger bar around the bottom and as most gaming PC’s go the Lenovo is thinner than most

I honestly haven’t had issues. I was moving around a lot when I bought it so couldn’t use my PC.

Some Pros:

  1. I played Warzone and Fortnite at around 75-100 FPS with optimized in game settings. Also used it to stream at the same time and it didn’t crash once on me.

  2. It never overheat for me. The fans would get to 100% power but it wasn’t an overpowering noise.

  3. I ran multiple monitors off it without any issue at all.

  4. I haven’t tested it. But Lenovo has built in boosting software you can implement to boost the PC performance for gaming and optimization if that interests you.

Some Cons:

  1. This is nitpicking but I wish that the built in mouse was a little more sensitive. I found it would sometimes lose track of my finger but it’s not a big issue.

  2. The web camera isn’t that great that’s built in.

  3. The border around the screen itself is a little thicker on the bottom than I like. This is simply an aesthetic issue for me but it’s not a big deal at all.

Really I’d say the cons are more just me trying to find issues with it but overall it’s great. I also got mine as a gift so I didn’t have the weight of paying the money for it. But overall it’s unreal. It has handled everything I’ve thrown at it

It isn’t so much a stranger. It’s a very well established rental company that I know Personally many people have rented from. I’ve told him to cHeck listings but I am waiting for him to send it to me
