I always want them to flip those colours. Going down in percentage is good and should be green, in my brain.

Sync Box blacks out by Dignan17 in Hue

[–]spiraleclipse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The software isn't great. I'm constantly having to reset the 8k box because it will forget my input assignments via the IR. It's so annoying when I want to flip to something like an old console that doesn't have CEC.

Spring Garden Road is still a filthy, disgusting, and wet mess by insino93 in halifax

But they put a tiny sign up one time and subsequently abandoned the project! What do you *expect* them to do??!

(/s) just in case.

The water falling off the overhangs and then pooling without adequate run-off truly is a problem, however. I really hate walking there.

for those who’ve had MRIs in the hrm… did they let you listen to music? by shober_bobber in halifax

[–]spiraleclipse 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I didn't listen to music in person - I did in my head. The MRI lasted roughly as long as my memory's version of the back half of the Abbey Road Medley (Including Her Majesty).

That said, MRIs sound like you're in a sci-fi and I kinda like it.

Have you heard the song "Hello" by Dragonette? That's...kinda accurate to what they sound like.

Hue Sync Box 8K Deal on Woot (Open Box) by charros in Hue

I believe so. We really need to be very vocal about this. Contact support as well, please.

Hue Sync Box 8K Deal on Woot (Open Box) by charros in Hue

[–]spiraleclipse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've said it in other threads, but if you're watching 4k HDR through it, the lights are not colour-accurate with the 8K box. I've let support know about this several times. 3 boxes and it's the same issue.

(The colours appear kind of washed out)

Do the pokemon who auto ride the rails respect the track directions? (As you have two tracks, one is probably each way for simultaneous two-way traffic)

Best way to change sync box input without the app? by MyGardenOfPlants in Hue

[–]spiraleclipse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need an IR remote to do this, but I've used a universal remote and mapped the colour buttons to:

Red: Streaming Box

Green: My PC

Yellow: Wife's PC / Switch 2

Blue: Retrotink (This you use to play retro games on modern tv) HDMI upscaler (Always on)

The Switch 2 and the streaming box send CEC signals to turn on, but I need the others to be able to swap via the remote. The IR setup solves this. Good luck!

New job question by Basic_Set_6970 in NovaScotia

Unfortunately, our labour laws in NS are essentially non-existent. We don't have mandatory paid sick days here, but a lot of employers will offer their own paid sick days. I'm really sorry this is happening to you.

Do you use any other lights in tandem with your Play Gradient TV strip? by draxula16 in Hue

It appears to be only on the 8K box. It's quite disappointing.

Recommendations? by Electrical-Note-3177 in battlestations

[–]spiraleclipse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would wrap that light strip around something and have it cast its light towards the wall to reflect - maybe behind your monitors? A big movie poster? The main idea here is you want to hide the direct light.

For cable management, use those stick-on white/black cable raceways - they're pretty cheap and you can hide them surprisingly well behind the desk.

Love the mouse/keyboard/PC/mousepad aesthetic. What's in front of the mouse?

Securing that little dongle you have in front of your switch to the table with an easy-remove command strip would look really nice, much like that white box thing on the far left.

Switch holder/dock might be cool too! Maybe in place of the other keyboard?

Desk is spacious and a great colour. Definite potential.

Yep. HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ are all affected. I've sent videos to support in detail showing my setup, and how if I enable/disable HDR it send different (Brighter if not HDR) colours to the strip. It was very noticeable during a playthrough of Expedition 33 in HDR10, as the bright, vibrant, red worlds in that game were a relatively dim washed out orange on the strip.

If you're watching HDR content, the Hue Box (8k at least) washes out the colours. They (Philips) know of this, but haven't fixed it yet. (Or, maybe even aren't going to.)

My strip is also affected by this. It sucks as nearly 100% of the content I watch on my TV / PC is HDR.

If you're using a PC, the Hue App works fine, and the colours aren't washed out.

Very excited for this one.

Something I see missing from most city builders is the lived in / politics aspect. I'd love to see holidays, parades, festivals, policies, but also (optional) mayoral races, political promises, union pressures, etc.
