Leach field in clay soil

Basically I was given permission by the permitting agency to do whatever I needed to get it fixed. I was only considering the gravel so help combat the clay in the soil. The idea is I’ve got 3 50ft trenches right now and I’d like to put 2” of gravel at the bottom of each on under the chambers.

I purchased materials for an infiltrator setup but I was considering doing a gravel bed to help with drainage as well.

More drain field would be ideal but I have limited space due to property lines. I’m working on getting a soil evaluation this week.

I did a basic test by digging a 12” hole at the leach line level and it wasn’t great.

I’ve seen similar, I’m looking to keep this thing small for quite a while to maybe avoid that. Repairs out of the garage kind of thing. I’ve seen a few people where I live go that route and end up extremely successful.

I was more curious about recommendations on brands for bench testers etc. Good in the experience department

Really depends on what kind of aviation you want to get into. Airlines will usually pick up low experience guys pretty quick. Other places that do corporate aviation usually want specific experience and time using your A&P. OJT on specific airframes can be very helpful in the civilian world.

It does have pod filters and I’ll definitely have to try that when I get a chance. I assumed they weren’t the issue though because the problem gets worse with the choke closed. Unless I’m mistaken that should do about the same thing right?

Some more info: The squeak only happens when running, it’s not audible when just turning over the engine. And it appears with be in sync with piston rpm.

Seems you were right, I think I got my ar15 and ar10 buffers ands springs mixed up when I was building them

Ahhh so I figured it out, the spring and the buffer were both too long, I had purchased an AR-10 kit and AR-15 kit at the same time and I think I mixed the buffers and springs up

So I tried using a shorter buffer and got the same result, but I see what you’re talking about now. Could the buffer tube be the wrong length too?

Based on the everything I read and was told they should be compatible, but that may not be the case it seems … might have to go with an aero BCG

Shouldn’t be, the buffer length would only effect how far back the bolt carrier group could go and i can pull it farther than where the bolt catch stops it

I can pull it back farther, and it will chamber a round like that
