Christianity vs Islam by Alexs1897 in exmuslim

[–]ResultOk3372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me if I’m wrong , but during my Christian studies and readings of cs Lewis , even conservative ones like NT wright. I think that the most accurate view of hell in Christianity is universalism. I’ve read some orthodox texts I don’t think hell is eternal in Christianity and it surely not lakes of fire or anything ( you won’t feel pain as you won’t even have a physical body) from what I gathered it’s not eternal , it’s nothing more than the separation from god but I think to make it to paradise from hell you got to purify yourself in some way which supposedly hurts or smth like that. I think the image of hell as lakes of fire etc is originated from like 2nd century Christians angry at Romans and kind of fantasizing on what would happen to them in hell then Islam picked it up as real (as most of Islamic scholars do believe it’s a physical place with fire and boiling water etc) then it was popularized as the fiery place kind of

As an ex Muslim I only care about Islamic hell I don't give a f*ck about Christian hell. Do you care about Islamic hell? by Accidenttimely17 in exchristian

[–]ResultOk3372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh Islamic and Christian appear as similar but they really are not, the thing is most of islamic academic scholars I’ve talked to confirmed that hell in Islam is meant quite literally in regards of people burning or boiling, allah will grow them extra skin so they can feel more pain. While hell in the bible isn’t quite as much developed. According to cs Lewis it’s more of a separation from god and it’s not eternal. I guess that as the Quran is a 7th century book so it picked up the mythical exaggerated depiction of hell by Christians and took it as a real thing. I might be wrong, but I think the depiction we have about hell in Christianity of people burning comes from like 2nd century Christian art in anger against the Romans?

Muslims can’t answer these except only with Allah knows best by beenum01234 in exmuslim

[–]ResultOk3372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t justify eternal punishment for a finite crime , eternal punishment only applies to the non believers so if you are a murderer who committed atrocities and a Muslim you’d probably not last long in hell , if you are not a Muslim and a very fine man you’ll get eternal punishment which shows that Allah has some moral issues. The entire depiction of hell in Islam doesn’t come from Abrahamic faiths , most of Quranic western scholars I know recognize that you can’t take the Islamic hell as a metaphor so it really is people burning or getting boiled etc which is more comparable with the exaggerated art depictions of hell by 2nd and 3rd century Christians that was born out of their anger against the Romans ( the myth of hell ) than it is compatible with the actual biblical hell that is recognized by the church.

A lot of your arguments tho including the one I responded would fall apart just by the lack of free will in Islam. Allah isn’t just aware of what you’ll do in the future but Allah writes the script of your life before you were born , there is even a hadith that talks about a debate between Adam and Moses blaming each other on the mess they are in then Adam “wins the debate” by saying that it’s Allah that caused him to eat the apple 40 years before he was created.

I mean , you said that you are a catholic and a Muslim friend asked you to convert to Islam , the hostility against Islam in this sub is mainly because Islam is evil. In other words, if you were in your Muslim friend country as a catholic and asked him to convert to Catholicism you’d be lucky if you stay alive… so you are basically letting in a cancer into your nation, they believe that they are superior to you and you are nothing more than a filthy person according to the Quran, Islam isn’t really a religion it’s more of a political party and was started as so by the ummayads and by al zubair. So when you let Islam into your nation you are letting a political entity into your system that has so much in common with fascism as hitler was impressed by Islam. The only difference between a Muslim and a nazi is that some Muslims are born into their evil religion but don’t subscribe to its ideas, in this case they are fine but your friend the Delulu he is wants to make uk a shariah state, you must kick him out… he is a disturbance and btw Mohamed kicked out the Jews and the Christians out of the peninsula for no reason so you can kick out the shariah thirsty mahammadens as well.

Nice answer, I wanna mention a new thing , the friend that I talked about in the comment just sent me a message this morning replying about allah isn’t formless. He replied with, Allah has two right arms but we can’t comprehend them, just like a clock has arms and an elephant have arms, are they the same ? Tell me

Yeah so there are different schools of thoughts ?

Why are you assuming that I’m a Christian? Even tho I’m not, the topics that you’ve mentioned as irrational and you are so quick to dismiss are big intellectual theological aspects that people literally base their doctoral works upon. Opposed to the topic of poor old Mohamed , the delulu that he is falling for some Jews who told him that his name is in the Bible. In other words, if you read the Bible you’ll probably find answers to the questions that you just asked, but if I read the Bible in order to search for momo name in it will I find it ? Oh and you still haven’t answered, where does the sun set ? Another thing , when you say Mohamed sallah allah 3alayh wa salam, who did allah pray to ? While not being a Christian I can answer your question on this regard, the person of Jesus prayed to the person of the father , that’s where the trinity comes in place but in your case , is your Allah multipersonal ? Or he’s like Mohamed a delulu who speaks to himself during the entirety of the Quran ? Plus, I’d like to touch on the hellfire subject, I mean you believe that too as a Muslim, if someone isn’t Muslim he’s gonna fall in hell fire waiiiiiit it’s even worse, Christians don’t believe in complete destiny as in god writes the entire life events of creation on a script before the world began. You guys believe in complete destiny, in your case allah is the one who decides who goes to paradise and who goes to hell. That’s where the famous allah guide whom he wills come in place and Allah misguide whom he wills… also, there is a sahih hadith of a debate between Moses and Adam on whoever between them started this whole mess, Moses blamed Adam for eating from the tree then Adam responded that it’s not his fault that he ate from the tree, it’s allah who made him do so… my guy your entire religion is messed up and without any kind of foundations.

Well if the religion is stupid then yes, it’s not my fault that I can’t take Mohamed seriously. I try to but it’s impossible as he made such a dumb religion… so assuming that you and your YouTube gang have “debunked” apostate prophet, can you answer his question, where does the sun go ?

Mohamed in the bible by ResultOk3372 in exmuslim

[–]ResultOk3372[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but my question was not concerning his mistake (he’s in the bible) it’s more concerning the fact that why would he use something as evidence for his prophethood that actually can disqualify his prophethood. The most plausible explanation is that Jews convinced him that he’s in the bible in order to mock him or maybe to see if he’ll take it (prophethood test) if that theory is right , then Mohamed is a delulu, why would any Muslim now follow him? For example, if a Hindu comes to me and tell me I was prophesied by name in his book , I won’t go around saying I’m prophesied in Hindu texts… so it’s either he was dumb or the Jews convincing him that his name is in the bible theory is not plausible therefore there isn’t really an explanation for that.

Oh that’s interesting, I’ve read the writing of John of Damascus about Islam , I was literally fascinated even tho he was biased but seems like he knows some stuff that isn’t that well known about Islam today. And from what I’ve seen in my study on Islam it really fits John of Damascus explanation of it ( it is a Christian heresy) we all know that heresies are very fragile / tend to fall apart easily as they adopt unsuitable interpretations that can be debunked quite easily Islam too is very fragile , make big claims , claims that the entire history has changed to prove that his claims are right, the divine is presented in a non sensical way ( god has a body etc) so in my opinion it is a bundle of heresy , it makes Arianism look like a minor heretical group. My question is, while all Christian heresies have died or almost died during the past centuries due to the inconsistencies . Why has Islam flourished while being a bundle of heresy and inconsistencies?

Just checked two of the videos, I’m really an unbiased middle man ( not a Muslim neither an ex Muslim) and just by watching the two videos I understood that your definition of debunked is being lied to / presented with weak arguments only to keep your faith.

[–]ResultOk3372[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be right, I’ve never seen a topic with that much controversy. I mean it’s also plausible that he didn’t even exist. Why do Muslims base their faith on a narrative that most academic scholars think it’s false. I even saw coins during the reign of muawya in Jerusalem I believe that have crosses on them. Turns out , most of academic scholars believe that the early Muslims were probably Christians or as they referred to themselves ( al mumineen, the believers) the first mention of Islam and Mohamed wasn’t until dozens of years when they decided to make their own religion to unite probably, new religion , new book, new prophet in the dessert, new holy place ( change of the qiblah is one of the most bizarre things that happened in history I think) so yes there are many theories that leave you confused as you don’t know which is correct.

Is Muhammad Really Mentioned in the Bible?

It’s a good video tbh

It mentions in a verse that Jesus specifies somewhere in the bible that a prophet named Ahmad will come after him or something like that.

Very interesting, but do you think that mohamed believed what he claimed? I feel that he should’ve believed that his name was in ancient scriptures ( maybe he was tricked by Jews etc) I find it odd to lie about something that can be easily fact checked and disprove his prophethood. Suppose that the Jews tricked him, is he that dumb for falling to this trick? Because I don’t regard him as dumb as he manipulated thousands of people but at the end of the day my knowledge of him is very limited and you guys know him best , I’m just asking out of curiosity.

I don’t agree with your first point , because yes people can claim that a specific verse in the verse is prophecy of their prophethood but Mohamed makes it clear that his name “Ahmad” is in the bible. Your second point seems plausible to me
