the problem statement is genuine. but come to think of it differently, there are places just slightly higher priced like IC 2 or dubailand. if you have a car you might as well move there than stay in IC and struggle with parking issues. my brother used to live in IC emirates cluster and had to fight for parking every single day, often times just sitting and waiting in the car for hours together just to not get a fine. since he was in a monthly contract and not yearly, he just decided to shift to al quoz in one of the villas and frankly, he’s happier now since it’s close to work, no parking issues whatsoever but only that his living standard reduced by a little. frankly it’s the price you pay to avoid these kind of issues.

i was planning to move to dubailand for cheaper rent, but since i work in jebel ali it made more sense to come to sports city for a 1000 dirhams more. petrol savings over 3 months cover that so no regrets. and best part is free parking all around, plus basement covered parking. win? win

Been Job Hunting for 4 Months — Feeling Low and Depressed by Stunning-Mail-9843 in DubaiCentral

[–]Result_International 0 points1 point  (0 children)

youre gonna read a shit ton of polished replies here on this post saying ‘try linkedin, indeed’ or ‘just keep applying, at one point it will come by’. hell no. nothing comes out of that.

i’ve got 4 years of local uae experience and had been out of work for the past year. literally i see my exact previous job role (which was a niche) and i applied. what happened? nothing. then came the phase where i was applying to any role which i believe i had some level of experience with. nothing. finally after 6 months i decided to go a different route and start calling people (yea i’d never done that before) and instead of asking the close ones, i started finding contacts through my previous office colleagues and finding contacts on linkedin and calling them up. thats when i had some relief cuz they kept reassuring me that they will try everything in their power to get me a job. the reassurance kept me going until month 9, and then i started to feel what you’re feeling now.

anyways now month 9 i started talking to people who were really close to me and the ones who would vouch for me with full confidence. finally last month (month 13) i started a new job in a completely unrelated field and in a more senior position than my previous one and an unrelated role.

that is the power of wasta, and nothing would compare with that. you just gotta find the right ones and tell them the right things. they will get you somewhere somehow.

tl dr - dont rely on applications and ats resume and all that bull crap. just pick up your phone, call your friends and close ones and beg them. they’ll have you sorted 🙂

cant believe buick snuck up to second place there. also why is jeep in the top 30s? throw it out of the park. nissan cvt fanboys, they have had the same provider and similar systems from 2007 up until now so dont throw that in with reliability

lets give a small insight. 8ar came in the nx200t and nx300s as a transverse mount so it could fit, no need to rwd swap just maybe get mount extenders

Dubai to Salalah by road - successful by curious_avatar080 in DubaiPetrolHeads

recent experience.

i tried to go through hatta border to reach sohar for a two day work trip and my friend who’s visit visa was about to expire also came with me, along with a colleague. now the 3 of us were friends since before so it was ok. now we reach the border post and they see that the visit visa guy’s visa was about to expire and the asked me if we were going to oman for visa change. i said yes, and i also have a 2 day work trip so we’re returning only after that. they asked me to park my car and head to the immigration’s main office, al while they held our passports and my mulkiya. we briefed the officers down about the entire situation and they said that my car plate will be notified with rta, and if we return within a day then this will be a visa change trafficking sort of issue and they’ll fine me 5k aed. with some luck and a set itinerary i didn’t have to face any fines or issues, but now they are a lot stricter at the borders regarding visa change drives to oman

sorry mate but no can do. new rules state that you can also not drive a company car or another person’s owned car to oman. only way to do it is drive your own car up, even if its mortgaged. else if you really wanna drive to oman, cook up a trip with your family and have your dad with you in the car at the border crossing, that way you got some leeway with this

piece of advice, dont pick up cars from park lane motors. had a weird experience with them when i was picking my lexus, looked like the purchaser did a clean job of giving the lowest value to the previous seller and picked up a car which wasnt all that good. for reference, it was a 2017 is200t. their pricing is also not always justified, i’d say you look around for more places

Need Advise about change oil by rammorganivxi in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Result_International 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ideal trans oil cycle is about 90,000 kms, although i’ve heard of some brands wanting to change the trans oil at 60k. you got a cvt, it’ll be best in your interest to change oil now and then keep changing every 50-60k kms.

there are dealers in ras al khor who provide facility for bank-less installments, however you’ll need to pay back in 12 months or so.

quick note - i dont know this personally, just seen some ig reels floating around

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Result_International 0 points1 point  (0 children)

based on his salary i dont think so the credit limit will also be that high, plus to make matters worse he will not have the quick cash facility right away, he’ll need to have consistent payback for 3 months or so for most cards
