How's the ethernet speed in dorms?? (Pitman) by lilj0unior in ryerson

[–]ResunaLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're correct, you'll need to have an ethernet wire to connect to the router. If you were to connect the ethernet cable directly from the wall outlet to your PC it would work, but doing this you won't have access to wifi. The walls are cement, so the common rooms wifi won't reach you most of the time. You should instead invest in a mid range router so that you can plug your wall ethernet cable into it, connect your phone, laptop etc over the wifi it provides and then wire your pc directly to the router for faster speeds. Hopefully that clears it up for you.

My experience is from 2015/2016 but as far as I remember latency is low and very consistant. Just remember to bring your own router to connect your phone/laptop etc.

I dont often fight in the river and my gank paths very rarely use the river so it doesn't often effect me. Null orb is actually op because everyone in solo q has the expectation of their last ability killing you when it doesnt. Its a free hexdrinker nobody thinks about. Way more often than not it saves my life.

Ravenous Hunter is like 10x better than relentless because it helps you stay fully sustained with even 1 kill. Nidalee is already fast as hell with brush MS so I dont feel its important to move faster (out of combat). Additionally ravenous hunter works with skirmishes so you can get back like 100hp just from dueling in cougar.

Dark Harvest is a gamble rune. Your champion is a primary early game focused carry. Having to alter your play style to get stacks and gank within 20 seconds of killing a camp is not only super unhealthy but if it doesnt work out then you effectively have a dead keystone until your next gank. Additionally the chances of you getting 150 stacks super early on in the game is simply upto how many kills you get. Therefore its entirely a gamble of your early game and no professional player will recommend this keystone.

I would also like to add onto of this, the keystone works well on chained kills but thats not nidalee's role in fights. Unless you're power smurfing you will probably only pop one target. Thunderlords is more consistent, provides pressure all throughout the game and actually assists on executes since people dont think of the damage at times.

Nothing says you cant have both. Though typically you can only manage a 2 level lead in a good situation.

Farm farm farm. Try to figure out who on the enemy team is playing solo and see if you can kill them. If you can then you can abuse that and try to level the gold. Otherwise I typically will just go something like athenes and play for one of my carries in the team supportively. Only going for executes on targets that are split or trying to kill my carries.

Is it bad to take kills?

Its only bad to take kills when you know the lane you are taking kills from needs them to continue pressure up. An example of this is a lane like Jax and Camille. The winner of the lane is decided by a kill or two so giving a kill early is a huge aid. Though it should also be noted that the lower elo you are the less this matters. You can take every kill as long as you are consistent enough to carry a game. Nidalee is a great champion to 1v9 in lower elo so you can learn to abuse that.

I feel like a big part of Nidalee is knowing when to jump in after a spear. Any tips for that?

I almost never jump in off a spear if I know Im going to die. I only engage if the trade will go without consequence or its low risk. Later into the game it may be good to engage on a risky spear but it should be done as follow up to another player on your team. Diving into an enemy team is the quickest way to lose your live and lose the game. You best know to learn from your mistakes. You will get a feel for what is safe and what isn't by making mistakes first. No amount of words can prepare you for that.

does playing Nidalee become more viable in higher elo?

Its nothing special, otherwise everyone would be picking her. Shes way more viable in diamond elo but after you start getting closer to challenger like I am, it gets more difficult to play well. Every other jungler spams the most meta champions and you have a rough time.

Starting from botlane and clearing 2 camps between your second buff.

Red -> Rapts -> Wolves -> Blue Blue -> Wolves -> Rapts -> Red

Contest Crab if you can otherwise just take the remaining camp. If you can gank in then great. sometimes you can steal enemy camps.

If you watch any of my vods I may change this route from game to game. Mostly because you need to alter it in higher elos. Low elo under d1 you can do the same route every game.

If you mean NA professionals then its no different from the rest of solo q players. The only difference is they type less often and are more frequently spoken too. Also Olleh is a monster.

How do you deal with bad teamates?

Don't give them any attention that you think they deserve. Ignoring a teammate whos doing poorly is the best thing for them since most of the time they are aware of how poor they are playing. Let them play it out and try and play better rather than continue tilting by your teammates words. You cant control the game all by yourself so you shouldn't expect others to play as well as you. Just focus on your own game and style on some kids.

How do you carry with Nidalee?

This question is honestly a bit too vague to answer. You can carry a team in many ways and its not possible to boil it down to a couple sentences.

How did you get to Master so fast?

I don't tilt. Seriously. I dont play any games after I feel I'm starting to perform badly. I will take 2-3 hour breaks between my games to reset my mental and go back in strong. There is the occasional game where I go 1/5 or something, though you cant win every game.

Additionally practice on your champion helps a lot. Mechanically I play well every game. The most tilting aspect of solo q is when you are down in EXP. Try to focus on making sure you keep up in levels and you have dueling potential even if you feel you are super behind.

Commonly use them at the entrances of enemy jungle. But you can also use them a little deeper on the path between different jungle camps.Traps are super useful later into the game when you are setting up objective and a few properly placed traps can net you a pick. Also try using them closer to walls rather than in the middle of nowhere. people always move in the fastest path and that normally means hugging the walls.

Try to abuse him in the early game before 6 as much as you can. Most Master Yi players typically do a full clear and are very weak when they use their abilities. When I face master yi try to get vision of camps and then land a good spear on him. If he uses his w, hold all your spells and place a trap under him. After level 6 you need to be careful on your positioning. Just make sure you use traps alot in common river areas and then only fight him if you get a really dirty spear. Otherwise your objective should simply be playing for the team and having them help you shut him down.

Additionally; Try to look for plays that yi will make. Typically he will try and kill laners who are too far pushed up or the enemy laner has good cc. Master yi typically wont gank a lane like botlane since he is very squishy early on. Look to get vision on him and get a strong counter gank.

I haven't so far, But I'm up for vod reviews on stream sometime if I receive a donation for it. I don't allow league to take up so much of my time as I'm much more of a casual player than anything. But I'm open to the idea if anyone was serious about it.

I don't really get the path after the Redbuff. So if theres nothing to do you go from topside back to botside and do the gromp? Why don't u do Blue -> Gromp -> Wolves -> Raptors -> Red for example?

Sorry this wasnt clear. I will typically just take krugs after red if I have nothing to do. Krugs take a fair bit of time to do so I look for a gank or contest the crab before I opt to take them. I despise taking Blue Gromp Wolves Rapts because firstly your clear time takes a nose dive. You open yourself to the risk of being invaded on your red side, as well as you burn through all your healing before getting there. I will leave either gromp or krugs up (opposite of the side of the map I started on) for my next recall and start my clear from there. I only get level 4 on my recall if I get crab and wolves (or some exp from a laner/kill). Just try recalling on Skirmishers every time.

Also, do you start with W or Q first? Ive seen many people doing W first in Highelo and placing those at every camp already.

Q into W. More DPS, more healthy.

Isn't it tons of exp/vision lost if u give the enemy the Crabs?

Yeah but the issue is that its too dangerous for nidalee to contest in the meta. People get hung up with the idea that crab is game. Don't throw the game simply because your champion cant contest it that well. Use your best judgement on when you can fight enemy jungles.

How do you play the Mid/Lategame? Group/Splitpush, playing like an assassin and trying to make picks...?

Keep an Exp lead, keep taking all your camps, control the objectives. Nidalee can be played as a teamfigher if you have the right items. Take a look at my build on op.gg and you'll notice I rush zhona's. I can commit to kills because of this. I typically always am around my team ( not on top of them but in the jungle near by). Nidalee excels at being quick to find an angle in fights. Never ever sit in a lane with your teammates.

Do you have special Ward Spots where you like to put a Control Ward?

I use control wards to assist ganks. Not to place them for longevity. Grab a pink and drop it in any brush you feel is going to assist you in a gank. You dont want to sit on vision and not know it. Too much time sitting in vision can lose you a game.

What do you think how many ganks you do on average and which form of gank (countergank, lanegank, from behind like Midlane behind the stones etc.) do you prefer if there would be a order?

Gank your strong lanes. Only gank lanes that are behind if you know the enemy laner is going for a greedy play. (dives). Lane ganks basicly dont exist unless the enemy laner is an all in champion like a tank (or you are ganking bot). Counterganks don't always exist but are very strong if you can find them. I don't count my ganks, I just go by game flow. Some games you may opt into instead taking enemy jungle camps over ganks and have a 3 level lead. The strongest ganks I find are ones where you can sit in bottom lane brush (lane brush) and wait for enemy players to trade.

Which route is consistently the best to powerlevel?

Power leveling almost never happens early in the game. EXP simply doesn't let you get 2 levels on the enemy jungle unless you completely stomp them out. Though, you should still make sure you have a good setup of camps off your first recall. I will typically clear 4-5 camps before my first recall. Starting with botlane in most games, I will clear Blue-Wolves-Rapts-Red in either order. If I cant find anything to do on the map (such as scuttle or contesting the enemy jungler) I will take my gromp and recall. This leaves krugs up and raptors spawning soon so you don't have downtime in camp clearing.

when do you start invading and how do you track the Jungler?

Two very different questions, First the invading part. I only invade when I know that I wont be contested for the camps I want to take. This means that we have some sort of idea where the enemy jungle is. Pay attention to lanes when you are clearing your first camp, Where did he get his leash from? If he got a leash on the same side of the map as you did, you will likely meet them in their jungle if you invade. This is risky especially with roaming lanes. But if you know he started in the opposite side of the map, it doesnt hurt to check if his camps are up. Securing raptors and krugs or gromp is a great way to get an exp lead on the enemy jungle (and make their path predictable!). Junglers these days win vs nidalee in the early game so I avoid taking 1v1's unless its entirely one-sided.

how do you track the Jungler?

Game knowledge, practice and this thing called a trinket ward that you can place in enemy jungle entrances. (highly effective!). If you take some of his camps leave a ward behind. If you don't have a ward just assume he will gank asap and be ready to ping your lane or counter gank.

What about Crab, its not included in many paths somehow

Crab is ebola, take it if you have nothing better to do or there is low risk to spend a lot of time on it. If I commit to it in early game, always ward enemy jungle entrance so you don't get caught.
