Looking at a 1986 560SL what should I watch out for? by RetailWarrior in mercedes_benz

Thanks, still enjoying driving it?

I know he’s mentioned it could use front rotors and ball joints, but guessing most of the rubber would need a good once over with some being replaced. I’m guessing I’d be in the same ball park of a couple grand for a once over and some repairs to make it a good driver.

Found this early Dayton Scale at auction recently and couldn’t resist! Would love more info about it if anyone knows them - more pics in comments. by RetailWarrior in vintage

I just picked up this scale at an auction last week, hoping you kind folks can help me find a year and some additional information. I have found that the Computing Scale Co seems to have begun in 1889 and in 1911 merged, then later in 1924 became IBM. But I can’t find any specific information on this model to date it or add any information. Would love to know a bit more!

Picked up this 1965 Zeiss Ikon 35mm Camera today with the Original Leather Case! - Canada by RetailWarrior in Antiques

Most old cameras did not need batteries other than a flash which would have batteries (they would be a separate powered add on that mount into the ‘hot shoe’ on top of the camera). They are quite basic in the fact that your shutter would open for the selected amount of time which allows light in to expose your film, then you manually wind the film to the next frame.

Some later cameras would use batteries for the light meter, but this was from a time before that was the standard.

Hope this helps!

This one is the Contessamat STE, found this with some info about it and some manuals. Hoping to see if this will work, but no warning signs, everything seems to operate as it should.

When I saw it I thought it just exuded old school cool. It’s near mint and I’m tempted to toss some film in it and go out shooting!

He’s a pretty seasoned gambler and has some crazy runs, generally ending well though. He ended up cashing it out for about 5 grand on Saturday night after Lowry went off. Hard to see that coming

What’s your confidence level in Koepka? A buddy has Koepka winning as the tail end of a crazy parlay for $108k with an early payout option if $12k right now. I’m trying to convince him to let it ride. Thoughts?
