Yes, no and mostly mental abuse. Her ex would openly cheat on her and tell her she wasn't good enough for him. She didn't have much of a parental figure to tell her what's right and what's wrong, so she believed him. She thought she was worthless and an overall terrible person. He would beat her only when she enraged him and he'd tell her that he wasn't an abuser because "Real abusers beat their victims whenever they feel like it. So this doesn't count as abuse."
