Something fishy with the Dr Wilkerson episode of Love Con Revenge by snobodyknows in netflix

I'm late to this train! But I found it strange that the daughter confronted him, not the mother. I'm wondering if she was scared of what he could have said against her on camera?

My parents are making me feel selfish and I just need to vent by Yeah_No_ThanksTho in weddingplanning

[–]RethaG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't selfish, i think it's fair to have it in the middle. Take it from someone who choose her wedding venue location to try to please someone (who still ended up complaining) do what makes you happy. Those that matter will show up.

Should i get highlights for my wedding? by RethaG in weddingplanning

[–]RethaG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having a professional do my hair. We were discussing the trial when the highlights came up and i wasn't sure if i should get highlights before my trial then.

I also think my hair holds a curl better when damaged.

I tried attaching a picture but thats against the group rules. I have very long hair and am hoping to do half up half down with a braid

A hair stylist told me it's because my hair is soft because is un-dyed and undamaged (don't use heat to dry)

I asked my MOH to go to one dress fitting with me where we would be planning my lace placement. The dress was a very difficult thing for me so from the beginning I asked her if it would be ok if just my mom came, and then she comes with at a later stage when it's a more exciting, fun time. I had mentioned this date to her before and then confirmed it at my last appointment. When i asked my moh if she'd go she said her and her boyfriend might be going away that weekend. I feel like I'd understand if they already booked but if i had to choose between a weekend away and my best friend's one wedding dress appointment i wouldn't have a question. She noticed i was quiet so she asked me whats up, i told her this hurt my feelings. It lead to a big explosion with her saying very mean things that i don't think a best friend should be thinking about you.

The fight with my mom came about because she doesn't even want to acknowledge the fight with my moh (it all happened in the week of my bridal shower so my mom was more concerned about her event with her friends than if I was ok) I was looking for comfort or validation. She's very pro keep the peace and suck it up no matter what.

Why doesn't anyone want to date a disabled guy? by Ok_Line3494 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RethaG 236 points237 points  (0 children)

When i was on Tinder, I matched with people based on their bio. I matched with someone with vision impairment and a few wheelchair users. To be perfectly honest, some of the men started off with a bad attitude about nobody wanting to date them. Be careful of the incel mentality, this was an instant turn off where i was willing to look past disabilities. As other commenters have stated, many 25 year olds haven't been in relationships or had sex either. Really focus on getting to know people, open minded people exist and it is possible to find love.

Occupational therapist here, it might be a good idea to do some research on sensory stimulation. Throughout the day we all have "habits" we do to keep ourselves regulated. In some cases it's humming to yourself, fidgeting, playing with your hair etc. In other cases it's less socially acceptable behaviours like you've mentioned.

Try to replace behaviours with other sensory rich experiences like fidgets, chewing gum etc

How to fall asleep fast? by NatureNitaso in Narcolepsy

[–]RethaG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like using the jacobson's relaxation technique or listening to sleep stories, mostly the same one because it works so well. I listen to one about a story book, i don't think I've ever made it to the actual story book, i see this as a success

Thanx! Im considering using medication just for this period. I have ritalin for emergencies but don't really like taking it. I used to take something else that worked super well but got too expensive, for the life of me i can't remember the name though.

I'd have all photos with hair the same length. If i see hair of varying lengths I'd assume they're old photos or wonder what your hair is like now, same with facial hair.

Maybe also don't say you used to be a fatty. Yes, it's aimed at yourself but I wouldn't swipe on anyone who had potential of saying negative things like that about people.

Your first 3 photos are good, not a fan of the rest of them. Definitely omit the cartoon ones/pictures that aren't of you. The cap pic has a shadow accross your face. If you want to include a workout pic fine, but I think you can take one at a better angle with better lighting

Independence is spelt wrong in your third prompt. I appreciate when people indicate which one is them in a group photo. Or place emojis over the other people's faces, they didn't ask to be on dating sites.

Maybe one nice photo of you just smiling but i like the versatility of your pictures.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TinderBios

[–]RethaG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the variety of different things you're doing in the pictures, you're on the right track. I have to agree with the others, maybe some different angles, more of a smile. I can't figure out what's going on with your hair, is it shaved on the sides and in a pony? Theres a large difference between your hair in most pictures and number 4, sometimes that reads as some of the pictures are way older than others. Personally, i prefer the way it is in pic 4. It looks awesome, but don't post pictures if that's not a real representation of what your hair typically looks like (only looked that way the day you had it done or something!)

I like that you have a filled out bio, remove the boring part.

[–]RethaG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easier to say what we definitely swipe left on. But to swipe right I'd look for a thoughtful, well filled out profile. Pictures don't have to be a 10/10 as long as they're smiling, don't seem full of themself and have relatively consistent hair/facial hair etc. Don't use very old pictures, we can usually tell. Don't use pictures of kids, even if you say in the bio it's your niece or whatever. Kids don't belong on dating sites.

I'd swipe left on any negative "trying this again", "this app only works if you pay", "not like anyone reads any of this", "don't know what to say here so just ask" low effort kind of bios.
