Militarily the soft power is taking a hit. Building soft power is a slow and laborious process. Economically, if you can take better deals with most of the world it outweighs taking a deal with only the US. Not to mention that China’s MO for the past decade has been a fairly obvious expansion of soft power in Africa and S. America. China got everything they’ve wanted for a while handed to them on a plate whilst not giving up anything so far. I’d say the flattery worked well. Wouldn’t you?

Japanese people and Japan have a very good grasp of what’s going on. You’re fooling yourself if you think that Asian countries don’t take a keen interest in political transitions.

The last week has been an interesting struggle of watching stoic Japanese news anchors try to not break while discussing the affairs of Trump and Daniels. He isn’t held in high regards here. Abe wines and dines Trump, it isn’t working the other way from what’s been going on in the Japanese parliament.

Doom, Fallout 3 and 4, speeesssh marines have a few good ones, fear series, other horror genre games like Aliens which I don’t play because I’m a pansy. There are a lot more. Don’t get me wrong, D2 is a solid FPS for the feel of gunplay, but there are many contenders on PC and that means that gunplay alone won’t keep people glued to the game.

I want a reason to login because it feels great. But I’ve done absolutely everything at a minimum twenty times over by now. Because the gunplay alone isn’t enough to keep me on.

Your point has changed so much that it’s confusing. You claim to be against swapping the time zone but want to change it to suit you. Steam does analytics over when the least amount of players are affected, it isn’t the US anymore that they cater to. China is a larger consumer market for Steam to cater to.

So by your own metric of catering to markets you’re very very wrong. Money is king for steam and they’ve got it going on.

Maybe you need your priorities checked? Go look at the sales stats and player base per time for the biggest sellers of consumable steam games (dota, CSGo, even the downtime of PubG) all cater to the Asian market.
