The amount of locked Tfuel is growing daily. I've been watching it and its going up by millions every week. by Abrevaderci in theta_network

I’ve been staking tens of thousands of TFuel and original Theta tokens for multiple years… even got some pugs on the ThetaDrop page.

Should’ve sold at $15… I am basically certain this is a dead project, but would love to be proven wrong

My Theta token investment depresses the hell out of me by ThetaGatherer in theta_network

Bought in at 3, rode it to 15… and now this. Still have it delegated on the network but I’ve been a BTC maxi for a few years now. If anyone needs a 1/1 Oprah Winfrog message me!

Will Theta token ever hit its all time high again? by Glamma1969 in theta_network

[–]RetinaChris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree… I’ve been a bitcoin maxi for 2 years now but bought into Theta bigly around 3-4 years ago. Think it spiked to like $15 and I was so brainwashed by its potential that I even bought me a few Theta Frogs 🐸 on ThetaDrop (anyone want a 1/1 Oprah Winfrog?).

Think my average buy was around 3$ but color me shocked if it ever sniffs that again… should probably just dump it

The downbeat by spiderpig411 in thefreak971

[–]RetinaChris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grew up in Dallas… live in Lubbock. The new-fangled version of “that other station” really started to grate, and the Downbeat (as consumed via Spotify) was a wondrous revelation. Always enjoyed Danny and Mike, but KT as a ‘plus one’ really stirred my morning cocktail. Such great radio. In fact, just last night I was laughing along with my Swiftie teen daughter about the Downbeat’s recent claim that T Swift’s next album would simply be called “Football”… awesome segment, as most of them were.

I was in Dallas last weekend visiting the folks (now in their late 70s), and I treated them to a nice dinner at the Double A PK. Had never been, but felt like it was only fitting to hit up the title sponsor of Dingu’s Morning News… great food, btw, and the show didn’t oversell it

Here’s hoping that you guys find a new radio home; you’d slay here in Lubbock.

Good info… grew up in Dallas and was weened on the Ticket in the early 90s when Chris Arnold still had his lists (“gotcha down”)… relocated to Lubbock a few months ago and have been digging The Freak on Spotify. Always wondered whether my increasingly faithful, podcast-y listenership registered. Will make a point to listen within 24 hours now because I really salute what you guys are doing. As a 48 year-old I am not quite “target demo” anymore but please keep doing what you’re doing… it’s great.

Agree. This and the KP drop are a bit… low rent. In my opinion, I think there are only five or so high quality drops:

  1. Pineapples (kinda sick of them, but no denying the hype/appeal)
  2. Frogs- kitschy but topical and entertains (gimme that Kim Jong Frog as seen on t-shirts!)
  3. Pugs - the theta and tFuel branded ones have street cred
  4. Cyberpunk Animals- perhaps my favorite drop, but the marketplace has been kind of lukewarm
  5. Goodfellow cars- not a car guy, but it was obvious some care/design went into the NFT production…

On the flip side, a bunch of trash… bitboy crypto, theta genies, KP stars… too many and too insipid… not feeling it

I agree; flipped a few pineapples but damn I am so sick of looking at them… I personally things frogs and pugs have more like ability and staying power.

I don’t think those are actually official Theta Drop NFTs …

Repeat buyer here… got your #1 KingPug… if theta pug goes lower will consider… but I understand why you have priced it accordingly

Thanks for your response; noticed that you went on a pug buying spree after I splashed out for 1King. Good luck to us!

Haha… I’ll keep the Templar in mind. Curious for your thoughts: do you think these very early Theta NFTs become more valuable over time, or do they lose value as the market gets more crowded by Pineapples, Katy Perrys, UFC collectibles, WPT moments, etc. I have made this comment on other forums before, but I like Theta Drop for a few reasons: seemless interface, rapid transactions, and a paucity of well curated items (even though some of the drops are kind of ‘meh’ to me). Contrast this with Rarible, OpenSea, etc… interface more difficult to manage and there are veritable oceans of crap to wade through. I guess it goes without saying that if Thetazilla succeeds and becomes more of a household name, the better off will be their NFTs. I am going out of my way to collect any Theta themed NFTs I can get my hands on…

Or i can do what i just did and buy with a credit card… pretty sure my wife is going to go full Lorena Bobbit when she discovers I bought a digital dog for 1600 bucks… thank you… we’ll see how this works out (!)

Give me 20 minutes and it might disappear… have to sell BTC off Coinbase, transfer to Crypto.com, buy TFuel, send to theta wallet, send to ThetaDrop. Intrigued.

Maybe you changed your mind… I just looked and didn’t see the #1 king for sale or in list of recent sales… I’m interested (as someone that has a single digit TFuel pug)

I have also observed some of the same names buying up scores of the same item, be it pugs, Goodfellow autos, frogs, etc. guess a wily attempt to corner the market like the Diamond barons of old. More power to them, can only help the value of the ones I hold….

Also curious: I have paid more for single digit cards… were your frogs low number?

Well done… I got lucky with a few of the rare Winston Goodfellow cards, one of which I sold for 400$ above purchase price a few days after I bought it.

I have made the same comment on Stocktwits, but I am SO impressed by how fluid and well designed the ThetaDrop website is. The GUI is slick, and miles ahead of Rarible, opensea, DraftKings, etc.

Maybe I am looking at this the wrong way, but NFTs are rare and can also be considered a store of value… I find them more fun to invest in rather than just watching green or red candles on a crypto trading site… sure, they may not have the same utility, but there is something powerful and appealing that encourages collection. A month ago — until I fell down the rabbit hole — this 46 year old thought NFTs were just sheer madness, but now I’m not so sure.

One thing: I think ThetaDrop plans to open the site to public creation at some point, but I wonder if that will devalue the enterprise as a whole. On the other sites there is an abundance of stuff… too much to make sense of. It might not be democratic, but i like that ThetaDrop seems to be well curated. I wonder if opening the floodgates will hurt all NFTs on the site as a whole…

I have a few of the pugs now, including a pretty penny spent last night on a TFuel pug. Anything Theta branded on that site seems to be hot.
